Description

Method for gluing paper. In the patent 217257 a means for sizing paper is described that consists of a mixture of aluminum sulfate and magnesium sulfate. Magnesium sulfate alone should not be usable according to this. In the manufacture of this glue, the disadvantage is that the magnesium sulfate required for this in the factories of the potash industry first has to be extracted from the kieserite with a great deal of heat. In addition, sulphate liquors are known to have a destructive effect on all equipment.

It has now been found that instead of the sulphate of magnesium whose chloride can use. The magnesium chloride is much easier to manufacture than the sulphate of magnesium, and besides, the chloride does not affect the apparatus in.: little like the sulphate.

It was found in the experiments that chlorine magnesium alone exerts a glueing effect, which, however, is very demanding for the first time Papers are not enough; should. A mixture of aluminum sulfate and magnesium chloride showed, however, depending on the percentage of added altiminiuin stilfate excellent gluing effect. Example: One made of 100 kg of resin and 15 kg Resin glue consisting of calcined soda is used as a. Precipitants three times the theoretical amount about 130 kg chlorine magnesium solution of 3o percent.
