Process for the aftertreatment of synthetic leather panels made from a mixture of rag and cellulose as well as latex as a binder, which is precipitated on the fiber with an acid salt.

The present invention is based on the object of making synthetic leather panels which are produced using latex as a binder, storable. It has been found that the previously known types of artificial leather of this type are not durable, but rather become brittle after a long period of storage. As a result, these known plates for the production of suitcases and. The like. Not suitable, because for this the material must have a particular durability and strength.

The surprising fact has emerged that artificial leather which is made using latex has an unlimited shelf life if the artificial leather panels are first impregnated with animal, vegetable or mineral fatty substances and then the surface is smoothed in a hydraulic press or in a Calender takes place.

This measure completely isolates the latex from the effects of atmospheric oxygen.

The harmful influence of oxygen on the latex is prevented and the material is particularly durable.

According to a tried and tested embodiment, the artificial leather according to the invention is produced in such a way that rags are processed on a Dutchman with the addition of cellulose, then mixed with latex and sulfuric alumina or alum in order to cause the latex to precipitate on the fiber material. The plates formed from the pulp are then mixed with animal and vegetable
