Das erhaltene Produkt ist ein kautschukartiger elastischer, in Schwefelkohlenstoff löslicher Körper. Beispiele i. ioo Teile einer wässerigen oder alka Tischen Lösung von Schwefelkalium oder Schwefelcalcium in Polysulfidform werden auf 2o Teile Formaldehyd unter Erwärmen auf ungefähr ioo° zur Einwirkung gebracht. Es entstehen 5 Gewichtsteile eines kautschukartigen elastischen Körpers, der in Schwefelkohlenstoff löslich ist.
