Description
Verfahren zur Darstellung eines braunen Nüpenfarbstoffes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man einen wert vollen braunen Küpenfarbstoff erhält, wenn man das durch Nitrieren von Benzanthron in. siedendem Eisessig erhältliche Nitro- benzanthron mit alkalischen Mitteln behan delt. Im allgemeinen ist es zweckmässig, den so gewonnenen Farbstoff einer Reinigung durch Behandlung mit Oxydationsmitteln, zum Beispiel mit Hypochlorit, zu unter ziehen, wobei der Farbstoff chemisch nicht verändert wird.
Der nach dem vorliegenden Verfahren Erhältliche braune Küpenfarbstoff färbt Baumwolle aus dunkelblauer Küpe in brau nen Tönen von vorzüglicher Echtheit; er löst sich in Schwefelsäure mit rotstickig violetter Farbe.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 7.0 Teile des durch Nitrieren von Benz anthron in siedendem Eisessig erhältlichen Nitrobenzanthrons werden bei 120' in eine Schmelze von alkoholischem Kali, die durch Erwärmen von 50 Teilen galiumhydroxyd mit 50 Teilen Athylalkohol hergestellt wurde, eingetragen. Man hält die Tem peratur eine halbe Stunde bei 120', er wärmt darauf langsam unter Abdestillieren des Alkohols auf 140 und hält die Schmelze bei dieser Temperatur, bis die Farbstoff bildung beendet) ist. Nach dem Erkalten wird die Schmelze in Wasser gegeben, aus geblasen und der braune Farbstoff abge saugt und getrocknet.
Wenn man den rohen Farbstoff noch mit Hypochlorit aufkocht, erhält man den braunen Farbstoff in reine rer Form.
