Description
Verfahren zur Darstellung eines wasserlöslichen Chromierungsfarbstoffes der Triarylmethanreihe. Gegenstand dieses Zusatzpatentes ist ein Verfahren zur Darstellung eines wasser löslichen Chromierungsfarbstoffes, welches darin besteht, dass man 4-(p-Tolyl)-imino- phenyl - di- (3-methyl-4- oxy-5 - carboxy - phe- nyl)-oxy-methan von der Formel:

mit einem neutralen Sulfit behandelt.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 51 Gewichtsteile 4-(p-Tolyl)-imino-phe- nyl-di-(3-methyl- 4-oxy- 5 -carboxy-phenyl)- oxy-methan werden mit 55 Gewichtsteilen Natriumsulfit (krist) und etwa 1000 Teilen Wasser bis zur Lösung des Farbstoffes unter Rühren erhitzt, von eventuellen Verunreini gungen filtriert und zur Trockne verdampft. Das eingedampfte Produkt löst sich leicht in Wasser auf, es ist farblos, beim Ansäuern fällt das ursprüngliche Carbinol wieder aus.
Die nachchromierte Ausfärbung der Sulfit- verbindung ist violett und stimmt in allen ihren Eigenschaften mit denen; ihs Aus gangsstoffes überein.

<I> Example: </I> 51 parts by weight of 4- (p-tolyl) -imino-phenyl-di- (3-methyl-4-oxy-5-carboxy-phenyl) -oxy-methane are 55 parts by weight Sodium sulfite (crystalline) and about 1000 parts of water until the dye dissolves, heated with stirring, any impurities filtered and evaporated to dryness. The evaporated product dissolves easily in water, it is colorless, when acidified the original carbinol precipitates again.
The re-chromed coloration of the sulphite compound is violet and agrees with them in all of its properties; ihs starting material.
