Gegenstand dieses Zusatzpatentes ist ein  Verfahren zur Darstellung eines wasser  löslichen     Chromierungsfarbstoffes,    welches  darin besteht, dass man     4-(p-Tolyl)-imino-          phenyl    -     di-        (3-methyl-4-        oxy-5    -     carboxy    -     phe-          nyl)-oxy-methan    von der Formel:

    mit einem neutralen     Sulfit    behandelt.

      <I>Beispiel:</I>  51 Gewichtsteile     4-(p-Tolyl)-imino-phe-          nyl-di-(3-methyl-        4-oxy-    5     -carboxy-phenyl)-          oxy-methan    werden mit 55 Gewichtsteilen       Natriumsulfit        (krist)    und etwa 1000 Teilen  Wasser bis zur Lösung des Farbstoffes     unter     Rühren erhitzt, von     eventuellen    Verunreini  gungen filtriert und zur Trockne verdampft.
