  Verfahren zur Darstellung eines wasserlöslichen     Chromierungsfarbstoffes    der       Triarylmethanreihe.       Gegenstand     dieses    Zusatzpatentes ist ein       Verfahren    zur Darstellung eines wasser  löslichen     Chromierungsfarbstoffes,    welches  darin besteht, dass man 4-(4-Chlor-2-tolyl)       imino-phenyl-di-(3-methyl-4-oxy-5-carboxy-          phenyl)-oxy-methan    von der Formel:

    mit     einem    neutralen     Sulfit    behandelt.

      <I>Beispiel:</I>    55 Gewichtsteile     4-(4-Chlor-2-tolyl)-          imino-phenyl-di.-(3-methyl-    4-     oxy-    5 -     carboxy-          phenyl)-oxy-methan    werden mit 55 Ge  wichtsteilen     Natriumsulfit        (krist.)    und zirka  1000 Teilen Wasser unter Rühren bis zur  Lösung erhitzt,     filtriert    und zur Trockne  verdampft. Das eingedampfte Produkt löst  sich leicht in Wasser auf, ist farblos und  scheidet beim Ansäuern das ursprüngliche       Carbinol        wieder    aus.

   Die     "nachchromierte     Ausfärbung der     Sulfitverbindung    ist violett  und stimmt in allen ihren Eigenschaften  mit denen des Ausgangsfarbstoffes überein.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Darstellung eines wasser löslichen Chromierungsfarbstoffes, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man 4-(4-Chlor-2-tolyl)- imino-phenyl-di-(3-methyl-4- oxy- 5 - carboxy- phenyl)-oxy-methan von der Formel: EMI0002.0001 mit einem neutralen Sulfit behandelt. Das Produkt löst sich leicht in Wasser auf, ist farblos und scheidet beim Ansäuern das ursprüngliche Carbinol wieder aus.
