  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines     Küpenfarbstoifes    der     Thloindigoreihe.       Es wurde gefunden, dass man einen neuen       Küpenfarbstoff    erhält, wenn man den     6.6'-          Dibrom-4.4'-dimethylthioiiidigo        bromiert.     Die     Bromierung    kann nach den üblichen Ver  fahren mit Brom oder Brom abspaltenden  Mitteln durchgeführt werden. Der so erhal  tene     5.5'-6.6'-Tetrabrom-4.4'-dimethylthio-          indigo    stellt ein     violettrotes    Pulver dar, das  sich in     Chlorsulfonsäure    mit tiefgrüner Farbe  löst.

   Mit     Hydrosulfit    und Natronlauge bildet  er eine gelbe     Küpe,    aus der Baumwolle in  licht-, koch- und chlorechten     rotstichig    vio  letten Tönen angefärbt wird.    <I>Beispiel</I>    48 Gewichtsteile 6 .     6'-Dibrom-4.        4'-dime-          thylthioindigo    werden in 300 Gewichtsteilen       Chlorsulfonsäure    gelöst und unter Kühlung  mit 18-20 Gewichtsteilen Brom versetzt.  Man rührt     zunächst    unter Kühlung einige  Stunden nach und erhöht dann die Tempera-         tur    auf zirka 30  . Nach 6-8 Stunden ist  die     Bromierung    beendet.

   Es wird auf eine  Mischung von Eis und     Bisulfit    gegossen,  filtriert und neutral gewaschen.
