Nachine to cut them. constant profile cutters. The present invention relates to a machine for cutting constant profile cutters, comprising a double planer carriage, disposed on a lever oscillating around a journal disposed eccentrically by relative to the center of the cutter to be cut and in such a way that the chisel of the planer describes an arc corresponding to the flank of the tooth of the cutter which is to be cut.
The appended drawing gives, to as an example, an embodiment of this machine, in which: FIG. 1 is a sketch, Fig. 2 is a longitudinal elevation, FIG. 3 is an end elevation, FIG. 4 is a plan view.
The theoretical principle of its operation is as follows: The circular flank of the cutter (whose contour is represented by the circumference of Largest diameter drawn in line mixed in the schematic figure 1) is mounted with the possibility of turning, after cutting (the each tooth, on a fixed axis 0 ', but immobilized in relation to to him while the tool is working.
The latter is carried by (tri lever, whose geometrical axis is shown, in one of its positions, by 0 A, A receiving an eccentric via of an extensible connecting rod (mechanism which will be described later) a reciprocating oscillatory movement around an axis 0 parallel to the axis 0 '</ B> and whose distance to the latter can be varied according to the needs of hard work.
For the sake of explanation, it will be assumed that it is 1 to cut in the blank, previously fixed in a fixed position, the tooth À A ' Ai A', and that the tool attacks this following tooth À A, by oscillating, as has been said, around its axis 0 suitably adjusted.
Under these conditions, the attack plane of the tool representing the exact profile to achieve, it follows that any position of this plane will give with the tooth .4 A ' Ai Has an inter section which will be the exact profile. Theoretically, the sharpening of the anterior face of the tooth should therefore be done according to the different positions of this plane, but this work would give rise to too great difficulties of execution, -and The oi can, for more ease, to iter this tooth according to a diametral pleasure of the bur, while obtaining an approximation more than sufficient in practice, as it results from the following considerations,
clearly demonstrating that any position called the tool's attack plane can be, within a very small quantity, mistaken for a diametral plane of the cutter.
If, in fact, from 0 as center with 0 0 ' as radius, we describe a circumference, to which we lead through the point < B> A ' a tangent having its point of contact in C, we obtain a line A' C which is a position of the attack plane of the tool. To prove it, it suffices to show that the angle (i is equal to the angle P. However, this results from the equality of the two right triangles < B> À 0 0 ' and A' 0 C, including the hypotenuses. 4 0, A '0 and the short sides of the right angle 0 0 ', 0 C are equal two to two as radii of one same circumference.
Their angles 0 ' A 0 and C A' 0 are therefore equal, and it is therefore the same for the angles a. and P which are their supplements.
In other words, the error produced by sharpening along a radius is characterized by the angle CA '0' or B A' 0 ' (B being the point of intersection of A' C with 0 0 ' long length). We will obtain the value of this angle by calculating 0 ' B as follows.
On the one hand, we see from the figure that the angles 0 ' 0 C and A' 0 .4 are equal as resulting from two equal angles G 0 A ' and 0 0' A of which we. has removed the common part B 0 A.
On the other hand, by denoting by r the equal value of these two angles and by cl and a, the distances from point B to point 0 </ B > and an point 0 ' respectively, we have: R d cos. r and x d - R where we get -.
EMI0002.0014
For r = 8 0 (angle removed by sharpening without reducing too much the resistance of the cutter tooth) and for 0 0 ' = </ B > R. = - 122 milli meters (admissible distance for large strawberries).
EMI0002.0015
If we take into account that the influence of the angle B A ' 0' only has a small effect on the profile of the teeth in the region AA'i, which is only the third of the distance A 'B, the value of 0' B, referred to the arc A, < / B> .4 ', becomes ezal at:
EMI0002.0019
Amount which, in practice, can be considered to be anything to to be negligible.
In addition, this quantity already negligible, still tends to decrease during the work of the tool as a result of the cutting force which tends to to </ B > flex the tool backwards, and, 'Therefore, to close angle B A' 0 '.
These various kinematic designs are carried out point to point by the machine forming the subject of this invention, and of which a detailed description will now be given: The mechanism itself, installed on a frame with fixing plate (not shown) comprises, as a member essential, a tool holder lever 1 (corresponding to 0 .1 or 0 A ' of fig. 1) </ B> capable of oscillating under the action of a crank 2 which transmits to it either movement by means of an extendable rod 3 articulated at its upper end around two journals 4 (corresponding to 0 in fig. 1)
supported as an extension of one another by bearings 5 provided with slides 6 between which the cutter holder bearing 7 can slide. The lever 1 carries a double carriage 8, similar to that of an ordinary planer, operated to using two threaded shafts with crank, one vertical 9, the other horizontal 10, and allowing adjustment and tightening, with articulation around an axis 11 of the cutting tool 10. which is given the shape of the profile to cut, for to small module cutters, or half-profile for to large module cutters.
The 10 ' axis and the tangent screw 10 " allow the tool to be inclined relative to to the vertical.
The 13 flank of the to trimmer is wedged on a bur holder 14 mounted between two points or lathe nose 15 (supported by the bearing 7 and whose common geometric axis corresponds to 0 ' of fig. 1) and is integral with a wheel < B> 16 provided with notches in which a finger 17, under the action of a res out 18, engages alternately to immobilize the sidewall while the tool is working 12.
A cam 19, receiving its movement from the shaft 20 by means of two toothed wheels 21, 22 and an endless articulated chain 23 provided with a adjustable tensioner 24, acts at the desired times, by means of balances 25, 26, articulated one in 27, the other in 28, < / B> on the finger 17 to lower it despite its antagonist spring 18 and release it from the notch it occupied. The pawl with spring 29, actuated by an eccentric 30 and a connecting rod, extendable 31, can then make , turn the cutter 13 one tooth to each return movement of the tool 12.
The distance (corresponding to 0 0 ' of fig. 1) between the geometrical axes common to the journals 4, on the one hand, and to the points 15, on the other hand, must vary according to the module and the nature of the strawberry to be cut. For this, the milling cutter bearing 7 is moved between the slides 6 and then subjected to the set position by means of bôulons à T, à the fixing plate.
The operation of this machine is as follows : When it is started, 1 * shaft 20, operated by by means of a belt, by the inter medial of one or other of the stepped pulleys 32, 33, of the countershaft 34, of the pinion 35 and of the toothed wheel 36, turns in the direction indicated by the arrow 37 (fig. 2).
Consequently, the cutting tool 12, carried by the lever 1 set in oscillation by the crank 2 and the extendable connecting rod 3, performs the relief, which is of the greater the greater the distance between the geometric axes of the journals 4 and the points 15 .
As soon as the return movement of the tool 12 begins, the cam 19, acting on the balances 25, 26 releases the finger 17 the notch of the wheel 16 where it was engaged, then the pawl 29, actuated by the eccentric 30, turns the milling cutter by one tooth to cut 13, after which, as soon as the balances 25, 26 cease to act by pulling on the finger 17, </ B > the spring 18 pushes the latter upwards, which engages in the next notch of the wheel 16 to immobilize the milling cutter again during the work of the tool, and so on, the feed ' t given, to using the' manual 38,
to this tool which can, if necessary, oscillate during its backward movement, around the articulation 11 of its carriage.
Before starting the machine, care must be taken, on the one hand, to place the tool 12 so that its attack plane is, at the beginning, in the same plane as the anterior face of the tooth strawberry; on the other hand, so as to regulate that,
the position during the l # excen movement of the tool, the milling cutter has a small advance on the latter, so that it does not come back on the tooth previously worked .
