Description

Magneto lamp. The invention relates to a magneto lamp; this lamp is characterized in that the rotor of the magneto is mounted on a rotating shaft, part of which has a helical ramp meshing with one. toothed wheel rotated by the lamp control mechanism. In this way, one obtains the multiplication of speed necessary for the correct functioning of the magneto with fewer components than in ordinary lamps where the transmission of movement is effected by means of a train of toothed wheels; this results in safer and smoother operation of the lamp.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, a flashlight according to the invention.

Fig. 1 is a side elevation with the housing removed; fig. 2 is a partial elevation taken from right to left in FIG. 1..

a is the fixed inductor magnet and b the armature, fixed to a vertical rotating shaft, c, having at its lower part a helical ramp ci ; this one meshes with the toothed wheel d, mounted idle on the horizontal rotating shaft e; on this shaft is fixed the solid toothed wheel of the ratchet g in the teeth of which engage two pawls h (only one of which is visible in fig 1), diametrically opposed, and fixed on the side face of the wheel d. i is the lamp operating lever.

It is pivoted in ii and subjected to the action of a spring which tends to maintain it in the position shown in FIG. 1; on it is fixed a toothed sec tor 7c meshing with the toothed wheel f.

The operation of the lamp is as follows: to obtain light, the lamp is gripped in one hand by resting the palm of the latter on the exterior face of the lever i and the latter is pressed against the casing of the lamp. The movement of the sector k is transmitted, by the ratchet g and the pawls la, to the toothed wheel d and, from there, to the vertical shaft c of the induced.

Once the sector is fully depressed, the lever is allowed to return to its original position under the influence of its spring; during this time, the armature continues to rotate in the same direction thanks to the acquired living force, the connection between the. wheel d and the. sector k being interrupted during this return movement thanks to the ratchet g and the pawls h.

The invention is not limited to flashlights; it can also, for example, be applied to lamps for vehicles (eg bicycles, motorcycles etc.) and to lamps intended for other uses.
