Abstract

The said industrial design consists of the features of shape, configuration and ornamentation of a generally symmetrical front bumper for an automobile as shown in the drawings; the front bumper has a top surface, a bottom surface, a front surface having a lower grill area therein, and side surfaces;the top surface has a pair of spaced-apart members which extend upwards and outwards therefrom at locations above the upper corner areas of the lower grill area; each member has front and side walls, the side walls merging through angled areas into the top surface of the front bumper; the top surface between the members is narrow and is slightly curved downwards and inwards to a generally horizontal narrow top surface portion;the lower grill area has rearwards extending narrow bottom and side surfaces with rounded corners between the bottom and side surfaces; the side surfaces slightly diverge upwards in front view from the bottom surface and meet the top of the grill area at upper corner areas; the bottom surface of the lower grill area is bowed slightly downwards in front view;the front surface between the lower grill area and the top surface curves smoothly outwards and rearwards and merges into the side surfaces through curved corner areas; the front surface extends upwards above the top of the lower grill area to the top surface of the front bumper; the front surface has an outwardly facing generally bullet-shaped in front view recessed area on each side of the lower grill area; each recessed area has a smooth inner surface which extends rearwards to an opening which is generally elliptical in front view; the upper edge of each recessed area is generally in alignment with the top surface of the lower grill area and the bottom edge of the recessed area generally follows the contour of and is generally in alignment with the bottom surface of the lowergrill area; a line extends downwards from the top surface of the front bumper from outside each spaced-apart member to the inner edge of the adjacent recessed area;a pair of generally flat surface areas of the front surface of the front bumper separate the recessed areas and the lower grill area; the front surface below the lower grill area has a lower elongated inverted generally U-shaped recessed area which extends most of the width of the front surface; the side surfaces extend rearwards on either side of the front surface; each side surface has a concave curved rear edge and a curved ridge area which generally follows the contour of the curved rear edge of the side surface;the upper portion of the outer section of each side of the front bumper has a curved contoured area above and beside the recessed area which extends outwards from the line which extends between the top surface and the recessed area to the curved ridge area on the side surface of the front bumper.The stippled lines in the drawings do not form part of the design.Representations of the design are shown in the figures wherein:Fig. 1 is a left front perspective view of the design of the front bumper for an automobile;Fig. 2 is a front elevation view thereof;Fig. 3 is a top plan view thereof;Fig. 4 is a right side elevation view thereof, andFig. 5 is a left side elevation view thereof.Diagrams of the design are included.
