Abstract

The said industrial design consists of the features of shape, configuration and ornamentation of a generally symmetrical front bumper for an automobile as shown in the drawings; the front bumper has a top surface, a bottom surface, a front surface having a lower grill area therein, and side surfaces;the top surface has a pair of spaced-apart members which extend upwards and outwards therefrom at locations above the upper corner areas of the lower grill area to a upper laterally extending member; the spaced-apart members, the portion of the top surface between the members, and the laterally extending member define an open space which is curved rearwards and has an irregular generally hexagonal contour narrowing in a downward direction in front view;the lower grill area has rearwards extending beveled top, bottom and side surfaces and curved corners between the bottom and side surfaces; the side surfaces are generally vertical in front view and meet the top surface at upper corner areas;the front surface between the lower grill area and the top surface curves smoothly outwards and rearwards and merges into the side surfaces through curved corner areas; the front surface extends upwards and curves slightly rearwards above the lower grill area to the top surface of the front bumper; the front surface has an outwardly facing generally bullet-shaped in front view recessed area on each side of the lower grill area; each recessed area has a smooth inner surface which extends rearwards to an opening which is generally elliptical in front view; the upper edge of each recessed area is generally in alignment with the top surface of the lower grill area and the bottom edge of the recessed area is slightly above the generally horizontal bottom surface of the lower grill area; a line extends downwards from the top surface of the front bumper from the outer edge of each spaced-apart member to the inner edge of the adjacent recessed area and continues to the lower edge of the front surface of the bumper;a pair of narrow generally flat surface areas of the front surface of the front bumper separate the recessed areas and the lower grill area; the front surface below the lower grill area has a lower elongated inverted generally U-shaped recessed area extending most of the width of the front surface with a smaller inverted second generally U-shaped recessed area extending beneath the lower grill area;the side surfaces extend rearwards on either side of the front surface; each side surface has a concave curved rear edge and a curved ridge area which generally follows the contour of the curved rear edge of the side surface.The stippled lines in the drawings do not form part of the design.Representations of the design are shown in the figures wherein:Fig. 1 is a right front perspective view of the design of the front bumper for an automobile; Fig. 2 is a front elevation view thereof;Fig. 3 is a top plan view thereof;Fig. 4 is a right side elevation view thereof; andFig. 5 is a left side elevation view thereof.Diagrams of the design are included
