Abstract

The industrial design consists of the shape, configuration and ornamentation of a rear bumper for an automobile as shown in the drawings; the rear bumper is generally symmetrical and presents a front section and rearwards extending side sections; the front section presents a smooth curved surface which extends outwards and merges through curved corner areas into the side sections; the lower surface of the front section extends downwards and curves slightly rearwards and presents in front view a pair of spaced apart curved recessed areas along the lower edge thereof situated close to the curved corner areas of the rear bumper; the rear bumper also presents a pair of open areas therein situated adjacent the curved corner areas of the rear bumper; each open area presents a generally trapezoidal shape with rounded corners in front view; the front section also presents an upper surface which angles upwards and rearwards and has an elongated generally U-shaped recessed area therein having rearwards extending bottom and side surfaces with rounded corners between the bottom and side surfaces and with the side surfaces being angled outwards; the centre of the front section of the rear bumper presents a generally rectangular laterally extending depression therein with a generally flat inner surface and rounded corners; the ends of the rear bumper present concave curved edges.Representations of the design are shown in the figures wherein:Fig. 1 is a left front perspective view of the design of a rear bumper for an automobile;Fig. 2 is a front elevation view thereof;Fig. 3 is a top plan view thereof; andFig. 4 is a right side elevation view thereof.The stippled lines in the drawings do not form part of the design.
