Abstract

GENES DE TOXINA E MÉTODOS PARA USO DOS MESMOS. A presente invenção refere-se a composições e a métodos para conferir atividade pesticida a bactérias, plantas, células vegetais, tecidos e sementes. São fornecidas composições que compreendem uma sequência codificadora de um polipeptídeo de delta-endotoxina. As sequências codifi- cadoras podem ser utilizadas em construtos de DNA ou cassetes de expres- são para a transformação e a expressão em plantas e bactérias. As compo- sições compreendem ainda bactérias, plantas, células vegetais, tecidos e sementes transformados. Em particular, são fornecidas moléculas de ácidos nucleicos de delta-endotoxina isoladas. Adicionalmente, são abrangidas as sequências de aminoácidos que correspondem aos polinucleotídeos e os anticorpos que se ligam especificamente a tais sequências de aminoácidos. Em particular, a presente invenção refere-se a moléculas de ácidos nuclei- cos isoladas que compreendem sequências de nucleotídeos que codificam a sequência de aminoácidos mostrada nas SEQ ID NO: 61-121 e 133-141 ou a sequência de nucleotídeos apresentada nas SEQ ID NO: 1-60, 124-132 e 142-283, bem como variantes e fragmentos das mesmas.
