Abstract

PROCESSO PARA ENDURECER AçO INOXIDáVEL E FUSãO DE SAL PARA A EXECUçãO DO PROCESSO. A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para endurecer peças de aço inoxidável através da difusão dos elementos carbono e/ou nitrogênio nas superfícies das peças. As peças são imersas em uma fusão de sal e expostas a temperaturas abaixo de 450<198>C por um espaço de tempo de 15 minutos até 240<198>C. A fusão de sal, além de cloreto de potássio e cloreto de lítio, contém uma substância ativadora formada de cloreto de bário, estróncio, magnésio e/ou cálcio bem como uma substância distribuidora de carbono de um cianeto livre ou complexo.
