Abstract
USO DE COMPOSTOS ACELERADORES DE MUDA, ECDISTERÓIDES, ANÁLOGOS DOS MESMOS E INIBIDORES DA SÍNTESE DE QUITINA PARA CONTROLAR CUPINS. A presente invenção refere-se em parte à administração oral de ecdisteróides para controlar cupins subterrâneos. Ecdisteróides preferidos para uso de acordo com a invenção em discussão são ecdisona, certos análogos da ecdisona e 20-hidroxiecdisona, por exemplo. Em algumas modalidades preferidas, um ou mais desses compostos é usado em um atrativo de cupim em combinação com um ou mais inibidores da síntese de quitina. Conseqüentemente, a presente invenção também refere-se em parte ao controle de cupins pelo uso de um inibidor da síntese de quitina (CSI), tal como hexaflumuron e/ou noviflumuron, juntamente com um ecdisteróide (e análogos dos mesmos) ou composto acelerador de muda (MAC),tal como a halofenozida. A presente invenção também refere-se a misturas compreendendo esses dois ingredientes ativos. O MAC/análogo de ecdisteróide induz um evento de muda preliminar em cupins operários (eles não puderam completar a muda), o que permitiu então ao CSI romper depois a muda e causar a mortalidade. A combinação desses ingredientes ativos, causando a muda celerada juntamente com a inibição da síntese da quitina, é surpreendentemente mostrada aqui por aumentar a atividade contra cupins, quando comparado com qualquer grupo dos compostos individualmente.
