Um novo processo para a produção de homopolímeros e interpolímeros de olefinas, que envolve contactar uma olefina e/ ou uma olefina e pelo menos uma ou mais outra(s) olefina(s), sob condições de polimerização, com um catalisador de polimerização de olefina e monóxido de dinitrogênio, em uma quantidade suficiente para reduzir a carga eletrostática no meio de polimerização. é também provido um processo para a redução da carga eletrostática na polimerização de uma olefina pela adição de monóxido de dinitrogênio.
