Os compostos da fórmula (I) no qual A representa C~ 6~-C~ 10~ arila ou um heterociclo de três a dez elementos opcionalmente aromático; X representa halogênio, ciano, C~ 1~-C~ 7~ alquila, trifluorometila, C~ 2~-C~ 7~ alcóxi ou trifluorometóxi; p é escolhido de 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 e 5; Z representa uma ligação, -CO-NH-, -SO~ 2~-NH-C~ 2~-C~ 7~ alquileno, enxofre, sulfinila ou sulfonila; n representa 0 ou 1; R~ 1~, R~ 2~, R~ 3~, E são conforme definidos na reivindicação 1, são inibidores da reductase de aldose.
