Através de um braço de comutação (45), ativado manualmendá através de um trinco de comutação (39). Este trinco de comutação (39) é, por outro lado, acoplado com o induzido (28) de um sistema eletromagnético (26, 27). Desta maneira, por ocasião do aparecimento de um estado de pane, a disposição de contato pode ser destravada através do sistema eletromagido. Com esta chave de seccionamento, a rede de bordo de um veículo, por ocasião de um acidente ou de um curto-circuito, pode ser rapidamente comutada para o estado sem corrente, a fim de reduzir o perigo de incêndio ou, em um outro estado de pane, impedir uma descarga da bateria.
