Abstract
"PRODUçãO DE áCIDOS GRAXOS HIDROXILADOS EM PLANTAS MODIFICADAS GENETICAMENTE". Esta invenção se refere a hidroxilases de ácido graxo. Processos para usar sequências de aminoácidos ou nucleotídeos conservados para obter hidroxilases de ácido graxo são descritos. Também é descrito o uso de clones de cDNA codificando uma hidroxilase de planta para produzir uma família de ácidos graxos hidroxilados em plantas transgênicas. Adicionalmente, o uso de genes codificando hidroxilases ou desaturases de ácidos graxos para alterar o nível de insaturação de lipídeos de ácidos graxos em plantas transgênicas é descrito.
