Abstract

''PROCESSOS PARA APLICAR UM AMIDO E PARA OPERAR UMA MATRIZ DE REVESTIMENTO DE CORTINA, E, MATRIZES DE REVESTIMENTO E DE EXTRUSãO." Uma suspensão de amido não cozido e água é aplicada à lâmina formando-se sobre a tela de arame (12) de uma máquina de produzir papel. A suspensão, e uma consistência de 2 - 10%, é aplicada à superfície da lâmina como uma cortina de caimento livre (30) pela fenda de extrusão anbrindo-se para baixo de uma matriz revestidora (25). As bordas de matriz são esfriadas para produzir transpiração por condensação de umidade, para evitar acúmulo de partículas de revestimento sobre as bordas da matriz. A passagem de travessia da alimentação da matriz é de seção transversal afilada entre a entrada e a saída, para manter a condição de fluxo turbulento, que mantém o material particulado do revestimento em suspensão.
