Abstract
abstract this invention relates to processes for the selective removal of contaminants from effluent gases. more particularly, various embodiments of the present invention relate to selective removal and recovery of sulfur dioxide from effluent gases in a regenerative sulfur dioxide absorption/desorption process that achieves favorable energy efficiency. energy is recovered from a wet stripper overhead gas stream produced in the desorption cycle by indirect transfer of heat from the stripper gas to a cooling medium and used to generate steam for use in stripping contaminants from the absorption liquor. the absorption zone may optionally be cooled to enhance the capacity of the absorption medium for absorption of a contaminant gas, thereby lowering the volume of absorption medium and contaminant-enriched absorption liquor that must be pumped, handled, heated and cooled in the absorption/desorption cycle. tradução do resumo recuperação regenerativa de contaminantes de gases efluentes esta invenção diz respeito a processos para a remoção se-letiva de contaminantes de gases efluentes. mais particularmente, várias modalidades da presente invenção se referem à remoção e recuperação seletivas de dióxido de enxofre de gases efluentes em um processo de absorção/dessorção regenerativa de dióxido de enxofre que alcança eficiência energética favorável. energia é recuperada de um fluxo de gás de sobrecarga de stripper molhado produzido no ciclo de dessorção por transferência indireta de calor do gás de stripper para um meio de refrigeração e utilizado para gerar vapor para uso em stripping de contaminantes do licor de absorção. a zona de absorção, opcionalmente, pode ser refrigerada para aumentar a capacidade do meio de absorção para a absorção de um gás poluente, diminuindo assim o volume do meio de absorção e do licor de absorção enriquecido com contaminantes que devem ser bombeados, manipulados,aque-cidos e arrefecidos no ciclo de absorção/dessorção.
