Abstract

Esta invención se refiere a procesos para la eliminación selectiva de contaminantes de gases efluentes; más específicamente, varias modalidades de la presente invención se refieren a la eliminación y recuperación selectiva de dióxido de azufre de gases efluentes en un proceso de absorción/desorción de dióxido de azufre regenerativo que logra eficiencia energética favorable; la energía se recupera de una corriente de gas de la parte superior de un separador húmeda producida en el ciclo de desorción mediante la transferencia indirecta de calor desde el gas de separador a un medio de enfriamiento y se utiliza para generar vapor para su uso para separar contaminantes del líquido de absorción opcionalmente la zona de absorción se puede enfriar para mejorar la capacidad del medio de absorción de absorber un gas contaminante, reduciendo así el volumen del medio de absorción y el líquido de absorción enriquecido con contaminante que se debe bombear, manejar, calentar y enfriar en el ciclo de absorción/desorción.
