Abstract

"POLIETILENO DE MéDIA DENSIDADE E ALTO PESO MOLECULAR". A invenção refere-se a um polietileno de média densidade e alto peso molecular (HMW MDPE). O polietileno compreendeo a partir de cerca de 85 a cerca de 98% em peso de unidades recorrentes de etileno e cerca de 2 a cerca de 15% em peso de unidades recorrentes de uma <244>-olefina C~ 3~ a C~ 10~. Tem uma densidade a partir de cerca de 0,92 a cerca de 0,944 g/cc, um índice de fusão MI~ 2~ a partir de cerca de 0,01 a cerca de 0,5 dg/min e uma proporção de fluxo do fundido MFR a partir de cerca de 50 a cerca de 300. Tem uma distribuição de peso molecular multimodal compreendendo um componente de alto peso molecular e um componente de baixo peso molecular. O componente de baixo peso molecular tem um MI~ 2~ a partir de cerca de 50 a cerca de 600 dg/min e uma densidade a partir de cerca de 0,94 a cerca de 0,97 g/cc. Também é revelado um processo para preparar o polietileno de densidade média. O processo usa um catalisador Ziegler e aplica múltiplas zonas de reação.
