Além disso a trava secundária (8) apresenta um braço elástico (12) provido de um ressalto (13), que se apóia sobre um bico de retenção (15) moldado na caixa (2) do conector (1), e que mantém a trava secundária (8) em uma posição prévia de engate, sendo que somente durante o encaixe do conector (1) no contra-conector (16) o ressalto (3) é levantado do bico de retenção (15). Em seguida, a trava secundária (8) pode ser engatada na posição final de engate.
