Abstract

Patente de Invenção: "ESTRUTURAS PARA A DIFUSãO DEGáS E ELETRODOS PARA A DIFUSãO DE GáS PARACéLULAS DE COMBUSTìVEL DE ELETRóLITO DEPOLìMERO". A invenção proporciona uma estrutura de difusão degás para células de combustível de eletrólito de polímero quecompreende um substrato de carbono semelhante a uma folha queé tornado hidrofóbico e que tem duas superfícies principais queopõe e uma camada de contato sobre uma de tais superfícies. Acamada de contato é composta por uma mistura íntima de pelomenos um polímero hidrofóbico selecionado a partir do grupo queconsiste em polietileno, polipropileno e politetra fluoroetileno epartículas de carbono finamente divididas, em que a percentagemem peso das partículas de carbono com relação ao peso total dacamada de contato totaliza de 40 até 90% em peso. A estrutura dedifusão de gás é caracterizada pelo fato de que o substrato decarbono é tornado hidrofóbico através de pelo menos um polímerohidrofóbico e os polímeros hidrofóbicos ficam restritos a duascamadas que se prolongam para baixo a partir de ambas assuperfícies que se opõe para o interior do substrato de carbono atéuma profundidade a partir de 5 até 40 gm e os polímeroshidrofóbicos enchem a partir de 20 até 60% do volume dos porosno interior das referidas camadas.
