Abstract

Patente de Invenção: "MELHORAMENTOS NO PROCESSAMENTO DE MATERIAIS E RELATIVOS AO MESMO". A invenção provê uma série de técnicas para o processamento de materiais de alimentação contendo urânio, tais como minérios de ferro, urânio reprocessado, resíduos contendo urânio e combustível gasto contendo urânio. Os processos descritos envolvem a fluoração de um material contendo urânio, a separação do material contendo urânio de outros materiais, com base na ionização do mesmo com o material contendo flúor não-ionizado sendo recirculado. Um urânio metálico e/ou um plutónio e/ou produtos de fissão podem resultar. A técnica oferece as vantagens em termos da faixa do materiais que podem ser reprocessados e uma redução no número de estágios de complexidade, os quais estão envolvidos no processo.
