Abstract

Patente de Invenção: <B>"MéTODO E APARELHO PARA INICIALIZAR E FAZER UMA ATUALIZAçãO DE FIRMWARE"<D>. Um método para escrever software em uma memória programável e um método para iniciar o controle de programa são providos. Um computador principal carrega um novo firmware a partir de uma fonte externa. O computador verifica, então, dois espaços firmware para determinar qual espaço firmware é cancelado ou qual espaço firmware é válido. O computador armazena, então, o novo firmware no espaço firmware que é cancelado ou não válido. Para iniciar o controle do programa, o computador principal determina se os espaços firmware são cancelados e, então, executa os programas a partir do espaço firmware que não é cancelado. Se ambos os espaços contêm firmware, então o computador principal pode determinar a validade do firmware usando uma soma de teste. O computador principal irá, então, executar programas a partir do espaço firmware contendo firmware válido.
