Broyeur vibrant.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

La Fig. 1 est une vue en élévation d'un broyeur avec des arrachements partiels laissant voir les organes de percussion;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Vibrating crusher.
The object of the invention is a vibrating crusher comprising rotary percussion members which ensure the reduction of the material to be treated, while vibrations generated in a part of the apparatus keep this material in suspension and intervene in its advancement. through the device.
Devices of this type are known which, in a vibrating container of considerable volume, mounted on springs and lined internally with fixed and movable baffles, have rotary percussion members of relatively small useful section.
These devices have the drawback that, despite a prolonged stay of the material to be treated in the container, the product obtained still has a very wide particle size spectrum, requiring
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
a subsequent classification operation by sieving,
Compared to these known devices, the vibrating crusher in accordance with the invention has the advantage of having only one, very small size and of directly producing a ground material of uniform fineness corresponding to the desired narrow particle size spectrum.
For this purpose, the vibrating crusher according to the invention comprises, on a frame with variable inclination and inclined so as to ensure the advancement of the material to be treated at the desired speed, a crusher body with circular section, closed at the ends by flanges, provided on its curved wall with inlet and outlet openings for the material to be treated and suspended at its ends from M-shaped springs, the feet of which are fixed to the frame. This crusher body is axially traversed by a shaft which protrudes at both ends, rotates in bearings mounted on the flanges and carries between them impacting members extending towards the curved wall of the crusher and decreasing in thickness d 'one flask towards the other.
This shaft is also provided at one of these ends with a flexible coupling the, 'connecting to a motor fixed to the frame, and at the other end of an unbalance capable of generating circular oscillations normal to the axis of the crusher.
The curved wall of the crusher body can be cylindrical or conical and the percussion members are preferably made of lamellae articulated on the shaft. If desired, the outlet opening for the crushed material may include a screen fabric.
The vibrating grinder according to the invention obviously differs from vibrating grinders, the container of which contains spherical, cylindrical or other filling bodies as grinding members, which act under the effect of vibrations to which they are subjected by a means generating oscillations.

The appended drawing shows by way of example one embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view of a crusher with partial cutouts showing the percussion members;
Fig. 2 is an end view thereof, and FIG. 3 represents on a larger scale a section taken along line III-III of FIG. 1.
The crusher comprises a cylindrical body 1, closed by flanges 2 and 2 'and provided with an inlet opening 3 and an outlet opening 4. It is supported at the ends by springs 5 and 5' which are advantageously of the M type, fixed by the feet to gussets 6 integral with a frame 7, with variable inclination relative to the fixed frame 8 and adjustable by sets of bolts and buttonholes 9 and 10.
The body 1 is axially crossed by a shaft 11, rotating in bearings mounted on the flanges, and protruding from the latter at both ends. On the one hand, in FIG. 1, on the raised supply side, the shaft is connected by means of a flexible coupling 12 to the shaft of a motor 13 fixed to the tilting frame 7, while on the other side, the shaft carries a pulley. weight 14 with recess 15 acting as unbalance. A second pulley-flyweight 14 'can be provided between the flange 2' and the coupling 12. Between the flanges, a series of washers 16 are wedged on the shaft by means of a wedge 17 (Fig. 3) s' extending from one flange to the other and pressing against a flat part of the shaft.
These washers serve as spacers between the strips 18 which constitute the percussion members and are articulated on either side of the shaft on rods 19 also extending from one flange to the other, passing alternately through the washers. and the slats.
The length of the slats is such that their end
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
evolves a few millimeters from the curved wall of the body 1 of the crusher. When the latter is cylindrical, as shown in the drawing, the length of the slats is constant from one end of the body 1 to the other, but when the latter is conical, the length of the slats decreases, for example from the entrance 3 to exit 4.
While the thickness of the spacer washers is substantially the same over the entire length of the shaft, that of the lamellae advantageously decreases from the supply side to the discharge side, as shown by the various cutouts in FIG. 1. Thus, the kinetic force of the lamellae decreases with the resistance to crushing of the material, which becomes finer and finer, while the number of percussions increases with the fineness of the material. This results in efficient grinding in a compact device, giving a product having a very homogeneous fineness.
It is well known that a proper balancing of a rotor with percussion members is delicate and difficult to achieve.
In the mill described, this adjustment is made unnecessary because of the presence of an intentional imbalance produced by the unbalances 14 and 14. ' which cause a constant circular vibration in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the device. This vibration reaches both the body of the crusher and the shaft 'with its percussion members, thanks to the suspension of the body at the heart of the M-shaped springs 5 and 5', known to be used advantageously on vibrating screens. . The unbalances are chosen so that the elongation of the vibrations produced is greater than the distance between the blades 18 and the wall of the body 1.
Thus, the material to be ground, constantly kept in suspension, is in the trajectory of the percussion members and is subject to the effect of these practically uninterruptedly.
The speed of advance of the material in the body of the crusher, favored by the vibration, depends above all on the inclination.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
end given to frame 7 in relation to the fixed horizontal frame
8. By a suitable choice of this inclination, it is easy to take into account both the hardness of the material to be treated and the desired fineness of the ground material. This normally has sufficient grain uniformity not to necessitate subsequent sieving, but if it is desired to obtain a product having a particularly narrow particle size spectrum, the outlet opening 4 is lined with a sieve cloth. which, under the effect of the vibration, will retain the small fraction of too large grains.
This fraction will remain exposed to the action of the slats 18 and will eventually pass through the sieve.
Of course, the invention is not limited to. embodiment which has been described and shown by way of example. pie, and we would not go out of its scope by making changes.
