<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Fig. 1: est une coupe longitudinale de la machine indiquant,en pointillés, le dégagement des cordes par la séparation des cadres;
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

PATENT OF INVENTION in the name of Mr. ANTONY ANTOINE "SIEVING MACHINE DUST AND CLASSIFY SANDS
AND OTHER SIMILAR GRANULAR MATERIALS "
The present invention relates to a machine for sifting sands and other materials in mixed grains or coated with impurities or foreign bodies or different from sand by grain size.
As is known, the purification of sand, stone dust and charcoal, comprises the washing and dewatering of the raw material followed by sizing or classification of the materials, treated according to the size of the grain.
We know the extent of the use of sands, stone dust and calibrated coal in the ceramic, chemical, glassmaking, foundry, concrete and heating industries, etc. , the greatest difficulty encountered in the mechanical processing of these minerals was the impossibility
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
practical to provide perfectly calibrated and more specially dust-free materials.
Indeed, according to the prooédés in use, this calibration was carried out by classifying sieves which clogged too easily despite the various means proposed to remedy this drawback.
The object of the present invention is to remedy the drawbacks associated with the use of existing machines.
For this purpose, the machine according to the invention essentially comprises a frame which is driven by a horizontal reciprocating movement producing jolts, and the inner part of which is stretched by means of steel cords juxtaposed one beside the other but leaving a free space between them, the dimension of which will vary according to the size of the material that one wishes to let through.
In order to carry out the continuous sieving, the machine according to the invention comprises a conduit bringing the raw material to be treated, which flows onto the rear part of the sieve; the sieve operating a reciprocating hozizontal movement on a slightly inclined plane, transports the retained grains towards a collector, while the finer parts which will have crossed it will be conducted, either towards another collector, or on another finer sieve placed under the first, and so on if a selected particle size is desired.
In order to facilitate the reciprocating movement of the frame, it is supported by four coil springs mounted on pivoting plates which are integral with the frame.
The frame is driven by its reciprocating movement by means of an eccentric shaft which is supported by the frame and joined to the frame by means of connecting rods; the shaft is fitted with a pulley which is driven by a motor.
This reciprocating movement of the frame can be obtained by other means, such as: motor, shaft or unbalanced pulley, by a pneumatic or electric reciprocating movement.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In order to obviate the obstruction of the slots as a result of materials stuck between the steel cords, the machine according to the invention comprises a double frame device, one fitting into the other; the inner frame which is fixed and in which the "even" ropes are arranged, receives the outer frame in which the "odd" ropes are arranged in such a way that the two nested frames offer a juxtaposition of the ropes ensuring regular spaces between them; on the other hand, when the outer frame is lifted from the inner frame, slits will be made larger as the rope withdrawn, which will allow the stuck material to pass through the lower screen.
Another way to disengage the strings is that of using hammers recalled by springs which strike the strings from below. This action can even operate while the machine is running.
In order to obtain a sifting surface which is both rigid and vibrating, according to the invention, use will preferably be made of piano strings which will be stretched at both ends of the frame and aligned with one another by means of grooves milled to size in the two cross members. of the frame.
In order to respect the alignment of the cords in the central part of the frame where they try to bend, the frame has a spacer milled with distant grooves and serving as housing for the cords.
On the other hand, to facilitate the sieving of the raw material of which it is desired to classify several grain sizes by means of several sieves which follow by superposition, the machine according to the invention comprises the control of the reciprocating movement independent of each frame whose The number of frequencies will vary according to the grain size of the material to be treated, the aim being to achieve a uniform flow rate so that the last sieve is never cluttered with delayed discharge material.
Other advantages and features of the pre-
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
This invention will emerge from the description of the annexed drawing, which schematically represents and by way of non-limiting example, an embodiment of the new machine intended for the treatment of sand, coals, stone dust, stones, etc.
In this drawing:
Fig. 1: is a longitudinal section of the machine indicating, in dotted lines, the release of the cords by the separation of the frames;
Fig. II: is a longitudinal section schematically showing the machine ready for sieving comprising a train of three sieves and four collectors.
The machine according to the invention comprises, mounted on a frame; 1) supports the screen frame, 2) to which the collector plate is attached, 3) the whole is supported by coil springs, 4) which are housed in pivoting plates, 5) secured to the frame by the bearings, 6) frame 2 is provided with two cross members divided with grooves, 7) in which the steel cords are housed, 8) and are kept in alignment by the spacer, 9) also divided by grooves, a third crossing, 10 ) located at the back of the frame is perforated with a number of ropes through which the ropes pass to be stretched on the other side by means of threaded pins.
The screen frame is actuated in a reciprocating motion producing jerks by an eccentric shaft (ll) actuating a connecting rod (12) connected to the frame by the pivot 18, the eccentric shaft (11) rotates in the bearings 16 which are supported by the chair (17) integral with the frame I.
On the other hand the eccentric shaft (11) is driven by the pulley (13) actuated by the motor (14) by means of the belt (le).
To cause the disgorging of the ropes, we will lift the frame 21 in which the odd ropes are stretched (2) the frame 21 pivots on the cross member 7 and when it is
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
closed, it locks against the crossbar 10.
The disgorging of the ropes, according to the invention, can also be done by means of hammers 22 which are fixed to the spacer 9, by means of the pivots 24 and whose return is effected by the spring 23 and the hammering control by the cams 25,
The cams 25 can be controlled either by a crank or by a mechanical movement actuated by the motor 14.
The number of hammers is not defined; there may be one per string or one per several strings, depending on the material to be treated.
The loading of the machine and the evacuation of the treated material are carried out by the inlet channel of the raw material (19) and the evacuation of the treated and calibrated materials by the collectors 26.
It goes without saying that the machine according to the invention described, in its application to the treatment of sands, coals, dust and stones, can be used with the same advantages for sifting, calibrating and removing dust from other materials in plots, grains, lumps or dust and that the present invention is not limited to its embodiment described and shown, because the latter can be modified in its details according to the requirements of construction or practice without thereby departing from the field of the invention.
