<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
REVENDICATIONS.
1. The present invention relates to a refractory lining, for heating devices, in particular such as oil or coal boilers, etc.
The object of the present invention is the production of a light refractory lining, of low cost and, at the same time, efficient.
To this end, according to the invention, instead of heavy and expensive refractory bricks, the coating consists of at least one refractory steel shell welded at its edges to the wall to be protected, for example, the wall of the chamber. combustion chamber of a boiler, so that between the bottom of the shell and the wall to be protected, there is a free space
According to an advantageous embodiment of the object of the invention, the shape of the shell is a regular geometric shape, for example rectangular, hexagonal, etc., 0.9 so that to cover a relatively large wall,
the shells can be put next to each other.
Another object of the present invention is the production of a boiler provided with a coating in accordance with the invention and comprising certain devices which take advantage of the properties of the same material.
Other details and features of the invention will emerge from the description of the drawings appended to this specification and which represent, by way of nonlimiting examples, a particular embodiment of the subject of the invention.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a refractory steel shell according to the invention.
FIG. 2 shows, in perspective and from the inside, the rear part of a boiler provided with a refractory lining according to the invention.
Figure 3 is a perspective and interior view of the front part of the boiler shown in Figure 20
In the various figures, the same reference notations designate similar elements.
The refractory lining forming the subject of the present invention is intended in particular for heating appliances, in particular such as oil-fired boilers, coal-fired boilers, etc. It consists of shells 1, made of refractory steel, welded by their edges 2 to the walls 3 to be protected, that is to say, in the particular case of application shown in FIG. 1, to the walls of the combustion chamber. a boiler 4.
The bottom 5 of each refractory shell is flat, so that, when the shells are in place, between the bottom 5 and the wall 3, there is a free space 6.
The refractory shells are made from a refractory steel sheet 1 to 6 mm thick. The edges 2 of the shells are obtained by folding the edges of the sheets, the corners of which have been cut beforehand. According to another embodiment, the shells are formed by stamping. In either case, the edges 2 of each shell have at least one opening 7 putting the interior of the shell in communication with the combustion chamber and consequently preventing deformation of the shell. under the effect of superheated gases trapped therein.
In the particular embodiment shown in the drawings, the shells are rectangular in shape. It is obvious that they could have another regular geometric shape, for example hexagonal, making it possible to cover extended surfaces by juxtaposing the shells.
The boiler 4, shown in the drawings, is intended for oil heating and must be completed by a burner 8, the flame 9 of which penetrates.

in the combustion chamber by an opening 10 made in the wall of the latter. The opening 10 is provided with a throat 11, made of refractory sheet steel, which surrounds the flame 9 and therefore heats up very quickly so that, as a result of this rapid heating, the formation of smoke and soot is practically avoided.
The throat 11 is attached to the edges of the Inlet Cover 10 and extends cantilever into the interior of the combustion chamber, far enough so that the flame 9 is directed towards the rear of the combustion chamber. combustion, the boiler being of the double flashback type o
It should be understood that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described and that many modifications can be made to the latter without departing from the scope of the present patent.
