"PROOEDE DE FABRICATION DE CHAUSSURES D'APPARTEMENT "
La présente invention se rapporte à la fabrication de chaussures d'appartement,en particulier des pantoufles d'intérieur connues sous le nom de "cosy"; ce sont des chaussures munies de semelles extérieures souples et sans appui pour la cambrure du pied.
On a réalisé des chaussures souples de ce type sous les formes les plus diverses, en particulier avec des garnitures en feutre, et dans lesquelles le feutre du talon aussi bien que la garniture continue de feutre sont cousus avec une semelle première, au cuir d'empeigne. A cet effet,on emploie une première assez rigide qui resserre ces garnitures de feutre entre elle e la semelle extérieure. Pour rendre la couture possible,

les garnitures de feutre doivent être un peu comprimées avec la semelle extérieure, afin que les bords de la semelle proprement dite et ceux de la première ou semelle à couture intérieure puissent être cousus ensemble.
Dans des chaussures souples de ce genre, il n'a pas été possible,jusqu'à présent,d'établir avec la chaussure elle-même un support de cambrure. Le feutre de talon actuellement fixé par couture, n'est pas prolongeable et ne constituerait même pas alors un support efficace pour la cambrure.
On a employé,il est vrai, pour des souliers de fatigue, des talons résistants(éventuellement en bois) qui, prolongés vers l'avant,forment un support de cambrure. Mais de tels coins ou talons rigides ne peuvent pas être cousus dans le cas de chaussures souples,légères;ils sont placés sous la première.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de chaussures d'appartement munies d'un support de cambrure rigide qui est constitué par une cale résistante, fixée par couture. Puisque, comme on l'a rappelé, lors de la couture, la garniture, c'est à dire la cale, prise avec l'ensemble du garnissage de feutre restant,doit être cousue avec une semelle inté- rieure par déformation du garnissage, on ne peut recourir,pour l'établissement du support de cambrure, qu'à une matière constitutive à la fois ferme, solide et flexible. On choisit pour cette raison,par exemple,une cale de liège qui est rendue plas- tique par traitement à la vapeur très chaude mais redevient rigide et résistante après séchage.
Toute matière artificielle ou naturelle qui permet de réunir ces deux qualités,conviendra donc pour cette cale d'appui. Pour faciliter la couture,on utilise en outre une première souple, extensible,qui se laisse tendre sur les garnitures de feutre et de liège lorsqu'on la coud à la semelle extérieure souple, en cuir de dessus.
La description qui va suivre,en regard du dessin annexé, donné à titre d'exemple non limitatif,fera bien comprendre comment l'invention peut être réalisée,les particularités qui

La fig.3 représente en plan une cale pour applications orthopédiques.
Une chaussure légère d'appartement se compose de la semelle extérieure souple 4, en cuir de dessus, de la semelle d'entredeux 2 en feutre et de la première 1 le cas échéant encore d' un talon en feutremou.
Selon l'invention on intercale entre la semelle extérieure 4 et le feutre intermédiaire 2, une cale en liège 3 s'étendant le long de la cambrure et qui est traitée à la vapeur chaude pendant la couture,de sorte qu'elle est alors tendre et flexible. La semelle extérieure 4 est tout d'abord cousue suivant la ligne 5,6 à une pièce intermédiaire 7 qui, à son tour, est cousue au cuir d'empeigne au moyen de la couture 8.0 Après l'introduction de la cale en liège 3 traitée à la vapeur,on coud ensemble, en une seule opération,la semelle d'entre-deux en feutre 2 et la première 1, souple extensible,en comprimant les garnitures 2.3 pour les réunir à la ligne de couture 8.9 Après séchage,la cale en liège 3 constitue un support de cambrure ferme indéréglable entre la semelle extérieure 4 et le feutre intermédiaire 3.

La nouvelle cale de liège Convient particulièrement aux applications orthopédiques parce qu'elle peut être pourvuedes supports connus pour pieds fourchus ou élargis et pour pieds plats. Il va desn que l'on peut apporter des modifications au mode d'exécution qui vient d'être décrit,sans sortir pour cela. du cadre de la présente invention.
REVENDICATIONS @
L'invention concerne:
I) Un procédé de fabrication de chaussures d'appartement avec semelle extérieure souple et garnitures enserrées par une premiere,procedé selon lequel on coud,entre la semelle extérieure et le bord de l'empeigne,une première souple ext ensible avec une semelle d'entre-deux connue en feutre et une cale, molle au moment de la couture et durcissant après cette opération.
2) Une mode d'exécution du procédé spécifié sous I), caractérisé par le fait que l'on ramollit par vaporisage une cale de liège dure à l'état sec et froid.
3) A titre de produit nouveau, une chaussure d'appartement fabriquée par le procédé spécifié sous I) caractérisée par une cale en liège, en matière synthétique ou analogue,servant de support de cambrure,et par une première souple,extensible, cousue d'une manière connue au bord de l'empeigne et qui enserre,en- tre elle-même et la semelle extérieure souple,la cale avec le feutre intermédiaire.

The present invention relates to the manufacture of apartment shoes, in particular indoor slippers known under the name "cozy"; these are shoes with flexible outer soles and no support for the arch of the foot.
Soft shoes of this type have been produced in the most diverse forms, in particular with felt pads, and in which the heel felt as well as the continuous felt padding are sewn with a sole, to the leather of upper. To this end, a fairly rigid insole is used which tightens these felt linings between it and the outer sole. To make sewing possible,

the felt fillings should be a little compressed with the outsole, so that the edges of the sole itself and those of the insole or inseam sole can be sewn together.
In flexible shoes of this kind, it has hitherto not been possible to establish arch support with the shoe itself. The heel felt which is currently attached by stitching is not extendable and would not even then constitute an effective support for the arch.
It is true, it is true, for shoes of fatigue, resistant heels (possibly in wood) which, prolonged forward, form a support of arch. But such wedges or stiff heels cannot be sewn in the case of soft, light shoes; they are placed under the first.
The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing apartment shoes provided with a rigid arch support which consists of a strong wedge, fixed by stitching. Since, as we have recalled, during sewing, the lining, that is to say the wedge, taken with all the remaining felt filling, must be sewn with an inner sole by deformation of the filling, one can use, for the establishment of the support of camber, only a constituent material at the same time firm, solid and flexible. For this reason, for example, a cork wedge is chosen which is made plastic by treatment with very hot steam but again becomes rigid and strong after drying.
Any artificial or natural material that combines these two qualities will therefore be suitable for this support block. To facilitate sewing, a supple, stretchable insole is also used which can be stretched over the felt and cork fillings when sewn to the supple, leather uppersole.
The description which will follow, with reference to the appended drawing, given by way of nonlimiting example, will make it clear how the invention can be implemented, the particularities which

A light apartment shoe consists of the soft outer sole 4, made of upper leather, the insole 2 made of felt and the first 1, if necessary, still a heel made of felt.

The invention relates to:
I) A method of manufacturing apartment shoes with a flexible outer sole and inserts enclosed by a first, method according to which one sews, between the outer sole and the edge of the upper, a flexible first ext insible with a sole of known in-between felt and a wedge, soft when sewing and hardening after this operation.
2) An embodiment of the process specified under I), characterized by the fact that a hard cork wedge is softened by spraying in the dry and cold state.
3) As a new product, an apartment shoe manufactured by the process specified under I) characterized by a wedge of cork, synthetic material or the like, serving as a support for the arch, and by a flexible, extensible insole sewn in 'in a known manner at the edge of the upper and which encloses, between itself and the flexible outer sole, the wedge with the intermediate felt.
