<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

Automatic coin device for T.S.F. connected to the mains.
The present invention relates to an automatic coin-operated device which can be used in combination with TSF receiving devices, connected to the mains, and by which after the introduction of a coin, the circuit supplying the reception is closed by a clockwork mechanism for a determined time and during which this circuit can be interrupted as often as desired. The coin which is introduced into the automatic device in order to activate the radio receiver is used at the same time to wind the clockwork movement for the duration which corresponds to the value of the coin. .
This reassembly of the mechanism
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The clockwork process that occurs when the receiver is put into service gives the guarantee that, when a coin is inserted, the automatic device is always ready to operate for radio reception and that the the clockwork mechanism is immune to any harmful influence.
The object of this invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment by the accompanying drawings in which:
Fig. 1 is an elevational view partially in section with all parts of the device in the position in which the clockwork movement has finished running.
Fig. 2 is a partially sectioned horizontal projection of Fig. 1.
Fig.3 is a view similar to that of Figure 2 but on which is shown the circuit diagram.
FIG. 4 is a view similar to that of FIG. 1 but with all the parts in the position they occupy when the clockwork mechanism is wound up.
Fig. 5 shows a construction detail of the clockwork mechanism.
The automatic coin device consists of a box 2 provided with an introduction passage for the coin 1 and in which is arranged a clock movement U controlled by a spring 3. The tension of the spring 3 is transmitted to the not shown rolling movements of the movement by a ground wheel 4. A bottom wheel 4 is added a latch known per se in watchmaking and consisting of a ratchet wheel 5 and a pawl 6 subjected to the influence of a spring. The ratchet wheel 5 and one of the ends of the spring 3 are rigidly secured

on a pin 7 which, in its extension, is formed as a coupling member 10 carrying a slot 9.
Opposite the member 10 is mounted a second coupling member 23 provided with a slot 27 and forming the extension of an axis 26 which can rotate in a yoke 24 and provided with a handle button 25. The movement clockwork having finished its operation and, consequently, the spring 3 being relaxed, the slots 9 and 27 of the two coupling members 10, 23 are directed in the same direction, fig. 2, and form the continuation of the passage of the coin 1, fig.l, so that a coin introduced into this passage slides into the two slots 9.27 of the two coupling members 10, 23.
However, so that the part cannot pass directly through the two slots 9,27 but that it operates as an intermediate coupling member for the two parts 10 and 23 until the clockwork mechanism is reassembled, on the yoke 24 is rigidly fixed to a cross member 28 which extends in the axial direction of the coupling members 10, 23 and carries at its free end a tongue 29 which, when the spring 3 is not tensioned, closes in below the slot 9 of the coupling member 10, figs.l and 2. This tongue 29 retains the coin in the slots 9 and 27 and leaves it free only when the two members 10, 23 are turned in the direction of arrow A, fig.l, using the rotary knob 25.
When the two parts 10, 23 coupled by the coin have been turned so that the slot 9 is no longer blocked by the tab 29, the coin falls into the collector 31. The tab 29 is provided. of such a dimension that in its blocking position, it effectively stops parts of the prescribed size but, on the other hand, allows
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
through the slots 9.27 the pieces of a smaller diameter.
During the rotation of the two coupling members 10,23 in the direction of arrow A, by the tension of the spring 3, the clockwork movement U is wound up for a period of radio reception paid for by the part inserted into it. automatic device. While the clockwork mechanism is in operation, the spring 3 which relaxes rotates with the axis 7 of the coupling member 10 in the direction of arrow B, fig.4. This rotational movement of the member 10 is limited by means of a clamping ring 12 on which is fixed a rod 11 which, in the starting position of the member 10, comes to rest against a stop 13 preferably. adjustable and fixed to the boot 2, fig.l.
On the coupling member 10 is mounted for rotation a disc 16 provided with a contact blade 14, subjected to the influence of a spring 15 and which carries the two stop pins 17,18. During the rotation of the member 10 in the direction of the arrow A, the rod 11 arrives against the stop 18 of the disc 16 and drives the latter so that the blade 14 is pressed between the two contact springs 19,20 of the current conductors 21.22.
While the clockwork mechanism is in operation and, consequently, during the relaxation of the spring 3, the rod 11 of the member 10 rotating in the direction of the arrow B arrives, shortly before reaching its stop 13, against the pin 17 of the disc 16 which it drives, so that the blade 14 is oscillated out of contact with the springs 19,20 and brought abruptly, by the traction of the spring 15, into the position shown in solid lines in FIG. 1 .
In order to avoid disturbances in the operation when a coin is introduced into passage 1 before the clockwork mechanism has finished its operation.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
operation or that the spring 3 is relaxed, a finger 32 is rigidly fixed on the disc 16 to come to rest, during the winding of the clockwork mechanism, under the discharge opening of the passage of the parts 1, fig.4 . As a result, the prematurely inserted coin is retained by the finger 32 in the passage 1 until, upon completion of the running of the clockwork mechanism, the contact blade 14 and with it the disc 16 are returned to their starting position under the tension of spring 15.
Passage 1 can thus be filled with coins without causing any inconvenience to the operation of the automatic device.
On the coupling member 23 which is rotated by the button 25 is rigidly fixed a lever 33 which is assembled to an oscillating lever 36 by means of a tension spring 34. The lever 36 is fixed on an axis 35 which is mounted to rotate in bearings 37 fixed to the box 2 and carries an insulated contact tip 38. This contact tip 38 is oscillated in the direction of arrow D, fig.4, by turning knob 25 and consequently by oscillating the lever 33 in the direction of the arrow B1, so that this point penetrates between the contact blades 39,40 of the conductors 41,42, these blades being fixed by means of an insulator on the box 2.
The current for the power supply of the radio receiver is supplied via the conductors 21, 22 and 41, 42. The contact springs 19,20 and 39,40 thus form two sockets, one of which, formed by the springs 19,20, is connected by the rotating part 10 of the coupling only after the introduction. tion of the coin and for the entire duration of the running of the clockwork mechanism, thus representing a temporary contact, while the second coupling
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
rant, formed by the contact blades 39,40, is connected, even without introducing a coin, by the rotating part 23 of the coupling using the button 25 and is used as a switch contact.
These two sockets are necessary so that the radio reception which is obtained, after the introduction of the coin, by turning the two coupling members 10,23 and at the same time winding up the clockwork mechanism, can be interrupted at will on the outlet 39,40 and restarted again without suffering a loss in the time of use which was paid for by the intriduction of the coin.
The circuit for the power supply of the receiving station is shown in figure 3. For this purpose, plugs 45,46 are provided for the mains connection socket, and contact sockets 47,48 for the connection. - permanently protected by sealing or in any other way with the radio receiver. The conductors 21,22 and 41,42 which, in box 2 of the automatic coin apparatus, are connected to the pins 45,46 and to the sockets 47,48 allow, by means of the two contact sockets 19 , 20 and 39,40, the closing of the circuit necessary for the radio reception and which is produced in the manner described with the aid of the two coupling members 10,23 by turning the knob 25 after the introduction of a coin in passage 1.
During the interruption of radio reception during the period of use paid for by the introduction of the coin, the clockwork mechanism is stopped by means of its balance 49, and for the resumption of reception. radio, it is set in motion in a certain way also by its pendulum. For this purpose
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
the two spring blades 43,44 are provided which are fixed on the axis 35 of the clutch lever 36.
The blade 43 comes to rest against the balance 49 and stops the movement when the lever 36 is oscillated in the position shown in fig. 4 to cut the current on the contacts 39,40, while the blade 44 slides on the balance 49 and sets it back into oscillation when, during the closing of the circuit at the contact points 39,40, the clutch lever is oscillated in the position shown in figure 1.
Of course, modifications can be made at will or as required in the different parts of the automatic apparatus described above and shown in the drawings as an example without departing from the idea and the scope of the invention. 'invention.
