<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
La fig. 1 représente une coupe horizontale; la fig. 2 ,une vue en plan; le corps 3 possède 4 direction ; le gaz arrive par la tubulure 4; l'air arrive par la tubulure 5; le mélange tonnant arrive au moteur par la tubulure 6; le carburateur à combustible liquide est branché sur la tubulure 7;
L'obturateur de gaz est un volet 8 ;
L'obturateur d'air est un volet 9;
L'obturateur de réglage d'air est un volet 10;
On a représenté sur la figure 1 et 2, une construction possible s'appliquant à l'invention; mais l'inven- tion s'étend aux différents organes décrits;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

PATENT OF INVENTION "Improvement of the air and gas mixing device for gas engines
Several devices are known for obtaining an explosive mixture of a combustible gas with air as an oxidizer, for supplying gas engines. Thus, the gas and air were sucked in by two different suitably adjusted valves. Likewise, an automatic valve is sometimes adopted which opens by depression on the air duct, the gas being regulated by a valve. Finally, there is sometimes a tap on a pipe through which passes the gas and air mixture previously dosed by a gas tap and an air tap.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
These devices have the drawback for supplying engines with two fuels (for example gasoline and gasifier gas) of making it difficult to start with gasoline, of not allowing maximum draft on the gasifier for its ignition. , to complicate operation for just one of the fuels, not to keep a perfect mixture at all speeds, particularly at low loads.
The object of the present invention is to obviate these drawbacks. The device is characterized by a hollow T-shaped part. The motor is supplied to the motor via the square branch. Gas and air each arriving through one of the other branches.
On the gas inlet is placed any shutter as well as on the air. These two shutters open and close together and are actuated by the same command.
It can be seen that the speed of the air and of the gas is thus suitable at all speeds.
The air adjustment is obtained by another shutter placed upstream of the air shutter. This shutter allows the air depression to be adjusted according to the gas depression and its nature.
The idle speed is obtained by adjusting the closing of the gas shutter, that is to say by leaving it slightly ajar while the air shutter is fully closed. The air necessary for the combustion of the idle gas is obtained either by an adjustable opening or not drilled on the right-hand branch (gas engine supply only) or by the idling of the carburetor (gas engine supply and at a any liquid fuel, simultaneously).
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
A mixing device according to the invention is shown by way of example on the attached back cover.
Fig. 1 represents a horizontal section; fig. 2, a plan view; body 3 has 4 direction; the gas arrives through the pipe 4; the air arrives through the pipe 5; the thunderous mixture arrives at the engine through the pipe 6; the liquid fuel carburetor is connected to the pipe 7;
The gas shutter is a shutter 8;
The air shutter is a shutter 9;
The air adjustment shutter is a shutter 10;
The shutters 8 and 9 are actuated by the same control 11 forming a parallelogram.
One of the branches of this parallelogram can be "lengthened or shortened by the screw 12 carrying a pitch to the left and to the right, blocked by the counter ... nut 13. This makes it possible to leave the butterfly 8, the butterfly 9 slightly ajar. being completely closed.
The air required for idling enters through the idle speed of the liquid fuel carburetor, or through hole 14 if there is no carburetor.
There is shown in Figures 1 and 2, a possible construction applying to the invention; but the invention extends to the various organs described;
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The invention thus extends to gas and air shutters actuated by the same control even if the air adjustment shutter were replaced by another shutter.
Likewise, the invention extends to the idle speed adjustment device regardless of the air and gas shutters used.
