MACHINE POUR LE CONDITIONNEMENT DE PRODUITS SOUS FILM
EXTENSIBLE, PRESENTANT SUR UNE MEME FACE LA STATION
D'ALIMENTATION EN PRODUIT A CONDITIONNER, LA STATION
D'EVACUATION DU PRODUIT CONDITIONNE ET LA BOBINE DE FILM DE
CONDITIONNEMENT
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Les principales caractéristiques de l'invention, et les avantages qui en dérivent, apparaîtront de façon plus évidente par la description ci-après d'un mode de réalisation préféré de la invention, illustré à simple titre d'exemple, non limitatif, par les figures des trois dessins de conception joints, dans lesquelles : - La figure 1 est une vue schématique et en élévation latérale d'une machine conforme à invention, avec le distributeur représenté en trait continu à la position haute de coopération avec la pince de préhension du film de conditionnement ; - La figure 2 est une vue en élévation de face et avec des parties en coupe du distributeur du film repris dans la condition de la figure 1 ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

MACHINE FOR PACKAGING FILM PRODUCTS
EXTENSIBLE, PRESENT ON THE SAME SIDE THE STATION
SUPPLY OF PRODUCT TO BE PACKED, THE STATION
OF DISCHARGE OF THE PACKAGED PRODUCT AND THE FILM REEL OF
CONDITIONING
The present invention relates to machines for packaging products in stretch film, and in particular machines on which the product supply and discharge stations are arranged on the same face, so that they can be served by a single operator, in the absence of supply and discharge conveyors.
Known machines of this type generally have the film reel on the face opposite that of the supply and discharge stations, so that it is impossible to position the machine against a wall and the operator does not may not have constant visual control of the film supply. Known machines of the aforementioned type are for example provided with a horizontally movable film distributor, which also carries the rear folder and the pusher which move the packaged product away from the packaging station.
The invention provides a machine with a limited footprint, which can be positioned against a wall, which can be controlled by a single operator and on which the reel of packaging film is placed on the same side as that equipped with stations. supply and discharge of the product.
The machine according to the invention is equipped with a vertically movable film distributor, which can on command be brought to different operating positions and in particular from a low rest position, at which it is positioned at a height less than the product feeding station, at an elevated and intermediate position, in which it cooperates with the pliers-pliers group for gripping and extending a segment of film in the packaging station, then at an even more position raised to prepare the film for perfect gripping by lateral transverse pre-stretching pliers, and finally to a position of total elevation, which brings the final segment of the film distributed to cooperate with
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
cutting devices,
after which the distributor returns to the low cycle start position.
The main characteristics of the invention, and the advantages deriving therefrom, will appear more clearly from the following description of a preferred embodiment of the invention, illustrated by way of example, without limitation, by Figures of the three attached design drawings, in which: - Figure 1 is a schematic view in side elevation of a machine according to the invention, with the dispenser shown in solid lines in the high position of cooperation with the gripper of the packaging film; - Figure 2 is a front elevation view and with parts in section of the film dispenser included in the condition of Figure 1;
- Figure 3 shows in side elevation, enlarged and with parts in section, the film dispenser according to Figure 1; - Figure 4 illustrates the dispenser schematically, in side elevation, in the two intermediate lifting positions and in relation to the clamps for transverse prior stretching of the film.
In FIG. 1, the reference G indicates the horizontal grid on which the product P to be packaged is positioned, normally placed on a tray and which, at the desired phase, is taken up by the elevator E which, by a compound movement d 'a horizontal movement and lifting-lowering, introduces the product P in a conditioning station K in which this product is pushed against a segment previously adequately stretched of the stretch film F, held on its perimeter by devices described below. On the grid is provided the horizontal and already known conveyor T which takes the conditioned product at its exit from the conditioning station K and which is generally heated to heat seal the superimposed edges of the packaging.
Immediately upstream of the conveyor T and in the same plane as the latter is aligned a roller conveyor 1 which, in the intermediate position, carries transversely a grooved pad 2, whose grooved profile
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
is turned down, in which is placed in the middle position and arranged longitudinally, a serrated blade 3 oriented vertically downwards (see also Figure 2).
Under the grid G is provided the structure 4 for supporting the film reel B, the axis of which is arranged parallel to the rollers of the conveyor 1.
FIGS. 2 and 3 also show that on a side of the chassis 5 of the machine, at the junction zone of the roller conveyor 1 with the conveyor T and below this zone, is fixed in a vertical position, by means of end supports 7, the body 106 of an alternating rectilinear displacement actuator 6, of the type with carriage 206 which slides in this body under the action of a screw-nut assembly actuated precisely by a displacement group which includes an electric motor 306 with two directions of rotation, with electronic speed and phase regulation and controlled by the processor which ensures the automatic operation of the packaging machine.
The carriage 206 of the actuator 6 is turned towards the coil B and on the latter is fixed in cantilever an arm plate 8, placed in the field and parallel to the saw 3 and on which are mounted two vertical supports 9 , 9 ', turned upwards and equidistant from the center line axis Q of the machine, relative to which the various components of the packaging machine are centered. On these supports is mounted the clamp of a dispenser of the type indicated by 10, parallel to the saw 3, its comb face 110 oriented towards the packaging station K and into which the film unwound from the reel B is brought when 'it leaves two parallel drive rollers 11, arranged immediately upstream of the distributor and actuated by means of a positive movement transmission by an electric motor 111.
The front face 110 of the distributor is positioned on the right flank of the vertical ideal plane which contains the saw 3, this plane being greater than this, the other flank of which faces the station K. But on this ideal plane is placed a jaw 12 with a U-profile, parallel to the saw 3, which slides by its ends in the vertical guides 13, 13 ′ supported by the abovementioned supports 9, 9, and which carries at its middle part a vertical and flat appendage 112 oriented downwards, on which the ends of a

pair of levers 15, 15 'articulated at 16, 16' on the support 9 and one of which extends beyond the articulation by a segment 115 of appropriate length, above which an adjustable mark 17 is provided fixed to the machine chassis.
At least one spring 18 is fixed to the appendix 112 and to the arm 8, to urge the jaw to the low rest position at which it is adequately placed under the front face 110 of the distributor 10. fi it is obvious that the levers 15, 15 ′ constitute the two sides of an articulated parallelogram, by means of which the jaw 12 can be raised and lowered always parallel to the saw 3.
On the center line of the arm 8 is fixed a support 19 oriented downwards, which carries at its lower end an oscillating arm 20 parallel to the reel B, oscillating on the axis 120, on which is returned the film unwound from the reel and which, by means of the drive rollers 11, is brought to the distributor 10. In the nonlimiting example, represented by FIGS. 2 and 3, between a swing arm 20 and the distributor 10 is mounted a known device which allows to reduce the width of the film unwound from the reel, by a folding operation, which gives this film a cross section essentially made of crushed "omega", as described in Italian patent No. 1,266,296 property from the same applicant.
By this operation, the width of the ends of the film segment F which is brought cyclically to the packaging station K is adapted to the dimensions of the product to be packaged, so that the edges of the package which are folded last do not overlap from the bottom of the product, the advantages being both aesthetic and functional.
The folding device comprises, for example, two rollers 21 arranged in a V, diverging upwards, placed at the inner part of the support 19 and on which the film taken out of the swing arm 20 is returned, which then passes over a central roller 22 and onto a plate 23, under which are folded plates 24, 24 ′, the internal and opposite edges of which are adequately rounded and convergent towards each other, so as to fold the film partially under the plate 23 and partly under themselves. The plates 24, 24 ′ can be fixed immovably on the arm 8 or can be mounted on the latter by
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
interposition of devices which allow self-centering to adjust the distance between these plates.
With the distributor 10 can cooperate at the appropriate stage a parallel clamp and of known type 25, already described in the Italian patent cited above, which by suitable devices can be made oscillating around an axis 26 parallel to the distributor 10 and which by suitable devices can be ordered close or distant from the distributor. The clamp 25 has at least the lower jaw in the form of a comb, in a complementary manner to the front face 110 of the dispenser 10. The upper jaw of this clamp 25 is on the contrary provided in a known manner with a small projecting and crazy roller 28, insofar as the gripper must also have the function of folding the rear edge of the packaging. With the clamp 25 is associated a push-button of known type 27.
The apparatus as described operates in the following manner. At the start of the cycle, the motor 306 places the distributor 10 in the position H1 indicated by the dashed line in FIG. 1, below the horizontal displacement stroke of the elevator E which can in this way transfer a product P of the service grid G under the conditioning station K. The product being transferred, the motor 306 lifts the distributor 10, with the annexed parts, to the position H2 indicated by a solid line in FIG. 3 and as indicated in Figure 2, and, at the appropriate stage, the clamp 25 approaches the distributor, opens and oscillates downward, so as not to interfere with the roller conveyor 1 and so as to cooperate with the distributor 10 on which it closes to capture the initial part of the film.
The clamp 25 being closed, it moves away from the distributor 10, while the rollers 11 are actuated to bring the film over a length to which the film segment F stretched in the station K is adequately stretched. The clamp 25, moving away from the distributor 10, oscillates upwards, is again positioned horizontally as indicated in FIGS. 1 and 4 and stops when, in station K, a film segment F of length proportional to the dimensions of the product, as indicated in the previous rights filed in the name of the depositor.
Since the film segment F which is
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
located between the clamp 25, at the end of the active stroke, and the distributor 10 in the position H2, is not in a position allowing it to be correctly gripped by the lateral clamps Z of the packaging machine, as in the example described in the patent cited above and as illustrated by the dashed line in FIG. 4, the processor lifts the distributor 10 to the position H3 indicated by the solid line in FIG. 3 and as illustrated by the solid line in FIG. 4, so as to align the film F with the clamps Z which, at the appropriate phase, grip the lateral edges of the film and subject them to a transverse preliminary stretching, of a length proportional to the dimensions of the product to be packaged.
Once the product P has been brought against the previously stretched film segment, the side and closed clamps Z fold the lateral edges of the film onto the bottom of the product P which, at the appropriate stage, leaves the elevator E which returns to low position, after which the clamp 25 activates to fold over the bottom of the product the rear edge of the film which is then released by this clamp.
During the successive phases, during or before the product is pushed for evacuation by the pusher 27 associated with the clamp 25, the distributor 10 is raised to the position H4 illustrated by the dashed line in FIG. 4, so that the jaw 12 , already in contact with the film since the arm 115 of FIG. 2 had already come into contact with the flap 17, pushes the film against the blade 3 to separate the packaging film from that retained by the dispenser which, during the successive phases , is lowered to position H1 by repeating a new cycle, while the last edge of the product is extended on the bottom of the product by the roller conveyor 1 on which the packaged product is discharged by the pusher 27 then passes over the final carrier T for removal and welding.
