Device for discharging liquids and gases from pipes.
The subject of the invention is a device for discharging the contents (liquid or gas) of a pipe which is not to be kept empty due to a leak in the gate valve or the like, in order to work reliably and without interference on this work of any kind (soldering of connectors or the like) to be able to execute the pipe contents. An auxiliary pipe is inserted into the main pipe, which is provided with a closing body which closes the main pipe beyond the work site, so that the contents of the pipe can be drained off through the auxiliary pipe without further contact with the work site.
In the drawing, Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal center section through the auxiliary pipe inserted into the main pipe to be machined, Fig. 2 shows an auxiliary tool for driving the end of the main pipe before inserting the auxiliary pipe according to FIG. 1 in view.
The use of the device according to the invention is as follows: First, the end of the pipe to be processed, through which liquid or gas flows continuously, is widened by hammering in the expander h, i according to FIG. 2 until it is sufficiently wide to accommodate the conical part has become a well-fitting veraubungsstückes according to FIG. 1. The contents of the pipe can flow freely to the outside through the central bore k and the adjoining transverse bore m. If you want to clean the main pipe particularly at this point, you can apply emery cloth or the like around the expansion cone h and work the inner surface by pressing in the expander again while turning it around the axis of the pipe.
Then the auxiliary pipe a with a seal e, a perforated rubber stopper or the like, held on its insertion end by a nut e, is pushed into the main pipe sufficiently far, about 60 to 80 mm behind the point of the main pipe to be processed. Then, by bracing an auxiliary pipe b pushed onto the auxiliary pipe a, which is guided at its end drawn on the right with a threaded sleeve f on a threaded reinforcement g of the pipe a, and with the other end by means of a washer d against the plug c presses, this squeezed together so that it is pressed firmly against the inner wall of the main pipe wild. This achieves good sealing and securing of the position of the auxiliary pipe a in the main pipe.
The contents of the latter can escape at the free end through the bore of the auxiliary pipe a and its more or less bent stub a, as required, while the end of the main pipe does not come into contact with the continuously flowing contents.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Device for discharging liquids and gases from pipes that cannot be completely emptied, characterized by an auxiliary pipe (a) which can be inserted into the pipe and which is provided with a closing body which closes the main pipe beyond the work site so that the contents of the pipe can be derived through the auxiliary pipe without further contact with the work site.
