Description

Process for the production of reinforcement inserts for shoe caps.
It is well known that in shoe manufacture, reinforcement inserts are used to stiffen certain areas of shoes, which are coated on both sides with celluloid and
EMI1.1
This simple application of the celluloid only results in two independent celluloid layers separated by the tissue.
A product that can really be used as a reinforcing insert for shoe caps is not obtained because the two celluloid layers are connected to the fabric, but not to one another, through the fabric.
A reinforcement insert coated with celluloid on both sides, as was customary up to now, respectively. The cap had to be processed in a still soft condition after the post-drawing. But with the strong that is necessary during processing
EMI1.2
is pushed and the cap on this side no longer has any strength.
According to the present invention, the celluloid layers lying separately from one another during the coating process should now be connected to one another, i.e. H. the tissue can be embedded in a single celluloid layer.
To enable this connection of the celluloid layers, the tissue to be used, e.g. B. stiff linen, pulled through viscous celluloid and then the tissue soaked in this way with celluloid passed through narrow rollers. The celluloid, which is still in a soft state, is driven through the fabric by the pressure of the rollers.
This soaking and rolling of the fabric has to be done several times in the same way to give the fabric the necessary strength and strength. Through this treatment
EMI1.3
prevent pushing the celluloid mass.
