Abstract
La presente se refiere a una intersección de tránsito y un sistema de guía de tránsito para la misma, que tiene una región de intersección donde se cruzan dos caminos, y una zona de cruce distal que permite que los vehículos que giran a la derecha (en un camino con volante a la izquierda) crucen al lado derecho de la carretera a una distancia de la intersección. De esta manera, los semáforos en la intersección no requieren una fase de giro a la derecha separada, y los vehículos que giran a la derecha pueden girar al mismo tiempo que el vehículo que se mueve recto sobre la intersección o que gira a la izquierda. El carril de giro a la derecha que se acerca a la zona de cruce distal desde un lado distal de la zona de cruce distal se encuentra en el extremo izquierdo, permitiendo que los vehículos que van en línea recta continúen moviéndose en línea recta. Los carriles que guían a los vehículos que se mueven en línea recta son reconfigurables para guiar a los vehículos a moverse en direcciones opuestas a diferentes horas del día, dependiendo de la carga del tránsito, y también son reconfigurables como espacios de estacionamiento. También se proporcionan carriles para bicicletas que se reciben desde la región de intersección entre el carril derecho de giro proximal de la zona de cruce distal y los carriles rectos que se aproximan a la región de intersección.
