Abstract
Proceso para la producción de compuestos de a-hidroxi útiles como químicos de plataforma tales como análogos de hidroxi de aminoácidos o precursores poliméricos. Reivindicación 1: Un proceso para la producción de un producto de reacción de a-hidroxi de la fórmula (1): (R)CH(R)-CHOH-COOR (1) en donde R es -H o -CH₃; R es -CH₃, -CH₂CH₃, -CH(CH₃)₂, -C₆H₅, -CH₂SCH₃, -C₈H₆N o -C₃H₃N₂; y R es -H, -CH₃, -CH₂CH₃, -CH(CH₃)₂, -CH₂CH₂CH₃, -CH₂CH₂CH₂CH₃, -CH₂CH(CH₃)₂ o -C(CH₃)₃ caracterizado porque comprende los pasos de a) proporcionar un primer compuesto de la fórmula (2): CH₂OH-CHO (2), b) proporcionar un segundo compuesto de la fórmula (3): R-CO-R (3) en donde R y R tienen los significados definidos anteriormente; y c) hacer reaccionar el primer compuesto con el segundo compuesto en presencia de un catalizador de ácido de Lewis para proporcionar el producto de reacción de a-hidroxi. Reivindicación 20: Un compuesto de la fórmula (1): (R)CH(R)-CHOH-COOR (1) caracterizado porque R es -H o -CH₃; R es -CH₃, -CH₂CH₃, -CH(CH₃)₂, -C₆H₅, -CH₂SCH₃, -C₈H₆N o -C₃H₃N₂; y R es -H, -CH₃, -CH₂CH₃, -CH(CH₃)₂, -CH₂CH₂CH₃, -CH₂CH₂CH₂CH₃, -CH₂CH(CH₃)₂ o -C(CH₃)₃.
