Abstract
Proceso para producir ácido poliláctico (PLA) que comprende los pasos de fermentar un microorganismo del género Monascus en un recipiente de fermentación, en un medio con un pH menor o igual que 5, bajo condiciones apropiadas para producir ácido láctico en el medio, convertir el ácido láctico en un láctido y polimerizar el láctido para formar PLA.Reivindicación 1: Un proceso para producir ácido poliláctico (PLA) que comprende los siguientes pasos: fermentar un microorganismo del género Monascus en un recipiente de fermentación, en un medio a un pH menor o igual que 5, bajo condiciones apropiadas para producir ácido láctico en el medio; convertir el ácido láctico en un láctido; y polimerizar el láctido para formar PLA.
