Abstract
Un método para distinguir especies de bacterias orales a fin de determinar si una especie es oralmente deletérea. Dicho método incluye poner en contacto al menos una bacteria o una porcion de una bacteria de una especie de bacteria oral con una célula gingival; y detectar la presencia de un compuesto indicador. La ausencia sustancial de un material indicador significa que la especie de bacteria no es deletérea. También están incluidos en el alcance de la presente métodos para determinar el efecto antiinflamatorio de un agente. Dichos métodos incluyen poner en contacto la célula con el agente en presencia de una bacteria deletérea o una porcion de dicha bacteria y detectar la presencia de un compuesto indicador. La ausencia sustancial de un material indicador significa que el agente es antiinflamatorio. Reivindicacion 1: Un método para distinguir especies de bacterias orales, caracterizado porque comprende: (a) poner en contacto al menos una bacteria o porcion de una bacteria de una especie de bacteria oral con una célula gingival; y (b) detectar la presencia de un compuesto indicador donde la ausencia sustancial de un material indicador significa que la especie de bacteria no es deletérea.
