Abstract
Una compuerta de medición para el control de metal licuado con pocos atascamientos, consta de una placa superior, que tiene un primer orificio de canal de flujo con una entrada que tiene un eje de entrada y una salida que tiene un eje de salida, los cuales están desplazados entre sí. Una placa de estrangulación deslizablemente montada en la placa superior recibe, de manera selectiva, el flujo desde ésta. La compuerta de medición proporciona un paso de flujo menos tortuoso y más simétrico cuando la compuerta está parcialmente abierta, pero provee un canal de flujo hacia abajo relativamente recto que permite un flujo pleno cuando se encuentra totalmente abierta. Se describe también un método para medir flujo que consiste en hacer ingresar el fluido en un primer agujero del canal de flujo en una primera placa de la compuerta de medición en una primera dirección vertical y hacer salir el fluido del primer agujero del canal de flujo en la primer placa en una segunda dirección vertical, estando la primera dirección vertical desplazada horizontalmente respecto de la segunda dirección vertical.
