Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which prevents generation of negative pressure in the anticipated negative pressure or vortex generating zones (corner parts) which are the opening ends below a stationary plate or a sliding plate and to regulate the flow of molten metal by notching the parts which are the upper parts of said zones. CONSTITUTION:In a sliding nozzle (SN) device of a two sheet plate type, the notch part 2 provided to the lower opening end 1a of a stationary plate 1 is formed to, for example, a diagonally cut straight shape. Thereby, the abrupt change in the flow of the molten metal from the charging hole of the plate 1 to the charging hole of a sliding plate 3 is avoided and the smooth flow is assured. Further, the generation of negative pressure in the anticipated vortex generating zone and the inclusion of air by this are prevented, and the generation of the vortexes by the formation of cavities is prevented. Hence, the local erosion of the refractories of the SN device is prevented and the stable operation is accomplished.
