Abstract
Se provee una película de polietileno de alta densidad (HDPE) que tiene orientacion biaxial. La película incluye HDPE que tiene una densidad de por lomenos 0,940 y un índice de fusion de0,5 a 10. La película es estirada en la direccion de lamáquina (direccion longitudinal) en un grado de 5:1 a 8:1,preferiblemente de 6:1 a 7:1. La película es también estirada en la direccion transversal (direccion lateral) en una grado de 6:1 a 15:1, preferiblemente de19:1 a 13:1. Preferiblemente, la película tiene un desequilibrio en la orientacion , con un mayor grado de orientacion transversal que orientacion, enla direccion de la máquina. Pueden proveerse capas externas, tales como capas de termo-sellado. Preferiblemente, la película contiene una o más capas de unmaterial promotor de moldeo empleado para promover el moldeo de una lámina de HDPE de alto espesor que será subsecuentemente orientada biaxialmente en altogrado para proveer la película. La película también puede sercavitada o modificada de otra manera (por ejemplo, tratada con descarga corona,recubierta, metalizada, etc) para proveer películas adaptadas para aplicaciones especiales. La película de la invencion tiene propiedades superiores incluyendomenos régimen de transmision de vapor de agua, mejor doblez neto, mayor resistencia a la traccion y perfil de espesor consistente. También se provee unmétodo para producir la película biaxialmente orientada.
