Abstract

Una composición combustible para motor de ignición a chispa formado esencialmente por un componente de hidrocarburo formado por uno o máshidrocarburos seleccionado del grupo formado por alcanos de entre cuatro a ocho átomos de carbonode cadena ramificada o no ramificada esencialmentelibres de olefinas, aromáticos, y azufre, donde dicho componente de hidrocarburo tiene un mínimo índice anti-detonación de 65 medido por ASTMD-2699 y D-2700 y un EPVS máximo de 1,055kg/cm 2 (15 Lbr/pulg2) medido por ASTM D-5191; un alcohol grado combustible; y un co-solvente miscible tantoen dicho componente de hidrcarburo y dicho alcohol grado combustible; donde dicho componente de hidrocarburo, dicho alcohol gradocombustib le y dichoco-solvente está presente en cantidades efectivas seleccionadas para proporcionar un combustible para motor con un índice mínimo anti-detonación de87 medido por ASTM D-2699 y ASTM D-2700, y un EPVS máximo de 15 psimedido por AS TM D-5191. También se describe un método para disminuir la presión devapor de una mezcla hidrocarburo-alcohol agregando a la mezcla un co-solvente para el hidrocarburo y el alcohol.
