Abstract

Una instalación de bolsa de aire, en la cual puede montarse una bolsa de aire para contener a un ocupante durante una colisión lateral de un vehículo,que puede también ser utilizada como apoyabrazos. La instalación de bolsa de aire posee un contenedor que aloja un módulo de bolsa de aire y una barra desoporte que sostiene al contenedor, en donde un primer extremo de la barra de soporte se encuentra vinculado, de modo que puede pivotar, a la parte posteriorde una porción de apoyo y un segundo extremo de dicha barra se conecta al contenedor. Cuando una fuerza de impacto es aplicada a un lateral del vehículo,dado que la barra de soporte y el contenedor son trasladados desde una primer posición a una segunda posición mediante los motores de mando primero y segundola barra de soporte puede soportar el impacto transmitido por la puerta del vehículo. Con el módulo de bolsa de aire alojado en el contenedor enfuncionamiento, el inflador despliega la bolsa de aire, y así el ocupante es protegido.
