Abstract

Se revelan un método y un aparato para producir metales y aleaciones de metales en un recipiente metalúrgico que contiene un bano de fusión que tieneuna capa de metal y una capa de escoria. El método está caracterizado por la inyección de ung as portador y un material carbonáceo sólido y/u óxidos demetales en el bano de fusión desde un lado del recipiente que está en contacto con el bano de fusión o desde arriba del bano de fusión, de tal modo que lossólidos penetran en el bano defusión y hacen que el metal fundido sea proyectado al espacio de gas por encima del bano de fusión para formar una zonade transición. El método también está caracterizado por la inyección de un gas que contiene oxígeno en el espacio de gaspara r ealizar la combustión posteriorde los gases de reacción liberados por el bano de fusión a la zona de transición.
