Abstract
Un dispositivo de calentamiento por inducción para unión por fusión, particularmente útil en el sellado de cables de telecomunicaciones y cierresque comprende un material de unión compuesto teniendo una matriz de unión y susceptores,siend o los susceptores magneticamente reactivos a una frecuenciapor encima de 50 MHz, y un aplicador para aplicar energía electromagnética radiante al material de unión compuesto, a una frecuencia por encima de 50 MHz(preferiblemente 75-500MHz). El aplicador puede tomar la forma de un resonador de cuarto de onda teniendo un conductor interno y un conductorexterno que al menos parcialmente rodea al conductor interno, siendo los dos conductores cortocircuitados en unextremo común. E l material a ser calentadoes colocado entre los conductores. El conductor interno puede incluir un tubo resonador que está capacitivamente acoplado a una fuente de potencia por unasonda capacitiva conectada al conductor central deun conector coaxi al.
