Abstract

La invención se refiere a un método para inhibir el crecimiento de hongos en materiales plásticos que comprende incorporar al material plástico unacantidad efectiva de un derivado de 2-alquil- o 2-aralquil-1,2-benzisotiazolin-3-onas que tiene la formula (I), donde R1 eshidroxi, halógeno, alquilo C1-4 o alcoxi C1-4; R es alquilo C3-5, cicloalquilo o aralquilo que contiene por lo menos 2 átomos de carbono que unen el grupoalquilo con el átomo de nitrógeno y dondeel grupo alquilo o arilo puede estar opcionalmente substituido; y n es de 0 a 4. La invención se refiere además auna composición obtenida por dicho método y a una composición para llevar a cabo el método formada por dicho derivado junto con unplastificante o unestabilizante.
