- FIG. 6 is a perspective view showing the bracket constituting the bracket-equipped connector shown in FIG. 1 from the rear side, illustrating a state in which the connector housing is attached to the housing attachment portion on the left side.
- FIG. 7 is a front view of the bracket shown in FIG.
- the bracket-equipped connector of the present disclosure includes: (1) A connector including a connector housing and electric wires extending from a base end of the connector housing, and a bracket for fixing the connector to a fixed object, wherein the bracket has a main body portion disposed with one surface facing the fixed object, a contact portion protruding from the one surface of the main body portion and contacting the fixed object, a fitting protrusion protruding from the contact portion and inserted into a fitting hole provided in the fixed object to be assembled non-detachably, and a housing provided on the other surface of the main body portion to which the connector housing is attached.
- a wire holding portion that extends from the main body portion and holds the wires extending from the connector housing; and a pair of side wall portions that are arranged on the protruding end side of the wire holding portion and define an accommodation groove in which a tie band that binds the wires to the wire holding portion is accommodated, the accommodation groove opening toward the fixed object, and the protruding dimension of the contact portion from the one surface of the main body portion is set so that when the contact portion contacts the fixed object, the protruding end surfaces of the pair of side wall portions are separated from the fixed object.
- the bracket body is provided with a wire holding portion that holds the wires extending from the connector housing, and the protruding end of the wire holding portion is provided with a storage groove that houses a tie band that ties the wire to the wire holding portion.
- a tie band that ties the wire to the wire holding portion.
- the accommodation groove opens toward the fixed object, and the protruding dimension from one surface of the main body of the bracket's contact portion that contacts the fixed object is set so that the protruding end faces of the pair of side walls of the accommodation groove are spaced apart from the fixed object when the contact portion contacts the fixed object.
- the wire holding portion is preferably configured such that a portion of the main body extends away from the housing attachment portion, the pair of side walls protrude from one surface of the main body, and the protruding dimension of the contact portion from the one surface is at least twice the protruding dimension from the one surface of the pair of side walls that has a higher protruding dimension. Because the wire holding portion is formed integrally with and extends a portion of the main body, the rigidity of the entire main body can be ensured.
- the protruding dimension of the contact portion from one surface of the main body is at least twice the protruding dimension of the pair of side walls from the same one surface of the main body (or the higher protruding dimension if the protruding dimensions are different), it is possible to more reliably suppress or prevent the wires extending from the connector or the wire holding portion from coming into contact with the object to be fixed, thereby preventing abnormal noise.
- a reinforcing rib extending from the contact portion toward the side wall portion on the side of the object to be fixed of the electric wire holding portion is provided, and that the reinforcing rib connects the contact portion to the side wall portion, and that the protruding end surface of the reinforcing rib forms an inclined surface whose protruding dimension decreases from the contact portion toward the side wall portion.
- the surface of the wire holding part facing the object to be fixed is provided with a reinforcing rib that extends from the contact part toward the side wall part, connecting the two, thereby improving the durability of the wire holding part and the bracket as a whole. Furthermore, the protruding end face of the reinforcing rib forms a sloped surface that reduces in size from the contact part toward the side wall part.
- the tie band can be slid into the accommodating groove while maintaining the wires bound by the tie band without any slack. This simplifies the difficult task of bundling and securing wires to the wire holding part and accommodating the tie band in the accommodating groove while minimizing slack in the wire, improving workability while reinforcing the wire holding part.
- the pair of side walls of the accommodating groove, the side wall away from the contact portion protrudes beyond the protruding end surface of the side wall close to the contact portion.
- the protruding dimension of the pair of side walls defining the accommodating groove is greater on the distal side relative to the contact portion than on the proximal side. This advantageously prevents the tie band, which has been moved toward the accommodating groove while sliding along the inclined surface, from being dislodged by the force of the sliding beyond the distal side wall after being accommodated in the accommodating groove. As a result, workability can be further improved.
- the mating protrusion is preferably configured by a columnar portion disposed through the mating hole, and a clip held in a cantilevered manner at the tip of the columnar portion and having a pair of elastic locking pieces protruding diagonally outward from the tip of the columnar portion toward the base end, the pair of elastic locking pieces of the clip being elastically deformable in opposing directions facing each other with the columnar portion therebetween, each of the elastic locking pieces having an engaging portion provided on the protruding tip side of each of the elastic locking pieces, and when the elastic locking piece of the clip inserted into the mating hole elastically returns to its original state, the engaging portion engages with the mating hole, thereby preventing the clip from slipping out of the mating hole, and at least two of the clips are provided protruding from one surface of the main body at a distance from each other, and the opposing direction of the pair of elastic locking pieces of one of the clips intersects the opposing direction of the pair of elastic locking pieces of the
- the bracket can be easily secured to the object to be fixed. Furthermore, at least two clips are provided on the main body at a distance from each other, with the opposing direction of the pair of elastic locking pieces of one clip intersecting the opposing direction of the pair of elastic locking pieces of the other clip. This allows the elastic restoring force of the elastic locking pieces of each clip to absorb the tolerance in the opposing direction of the two clips while suppressing displacement in that direction. Therefore, compared to when there is only one clip or when the clips are arranged in the same opposing direction, it is possible to suppress displacement of the bracket relative to the object to be fixed due to rotational displacement transmitted from the electric wire via the connector.
- the two clips are arranged so that the opposing directions of the pairs of elastic locking pieces of the two clips are perpendicular to each other. This makes it possible to suppress rotational displacement over a wider range, such as front-to-back and left-to-right.
- the base end of the columnar portion of one clip has abutment portions on both radial sides of the fitting hole that can abut against the fitting hole, and the base end of the columnar portion of the other clip has non-abutment portions on both radial sides of the fitting hole that are spaced apart from the fitting hole by a gap and do not abut against the fitting hole. Because the base end of the columnar portion of one clip has abutment portions that can abut against the fitting hole, rotational displacement transmitted from the electric wire via the connector is suppressed by the abutment portions abutting against the fitting hole, thereby more effectively suppressing displacement of the bracket relative to the fixed object.
- the base end of the columnar portion of the other clip has non-abutment portions on both radial sides of the fitting hole that are spaced apart from the fitting hole by a gap and do not abut against the fitting hole. This makes it possible to accommodate tolerances in the distance between the fitting holes in the fixed object and the two clips, facilitating assembly of the bracket to the fixed object.
- a locking portion is provided inside the housing attachment portion to engage with the connector housing and prevent the connector housing from being removed from the housing attachment portion, and that the base end of the connector housing attached to the housing attachment portion protrudes outward from the housing attachment portion.
- the locking portion that engages with the connector housing is located inside the housing attachment portion, it is necessary to confirm complete mating of the connector housing into the housing attachment portion by means other than visual inspection.
- the base end of the connector housing protrudes outside the housing attachment portion when attached to the housing attachment portion. This allows the worker to pull the connector housing with their fingers or a tool, etc., to confirm complete mating into the housing attachment portion. Therefore, compared to when the connector housing is completely housed in the housing attachment portion and complete mating must be confirmed by pulling on the wire, the mating state of the connector housing and housing attachment portion can be confirmed without applying unnecessary tensile force to the connector wire or the connection between the wire and the terminal, achieving both improved workability and maintaining stable connector conductivity.
- the housing mounting portions are arranged in parallel on the other surface of the main body, and that adjacent housing mounting portions are spaced apart in the parallel direction. Even when multiple housing mounting portions are arranged in parallel on the main body, adjacent housing mounting portions are spaced apart in the parallel direction. Therefore, when checking the complete mating of the connector housings attached to each housing mounting portion, the gap between adjacent housing mounting portions can be secured as working space, improving the workability of the checking work.

- the front clip 48a is inserted into the front fitting hole 46a from above, causing each elastic locking piece 70 to elastically deform inward in the opposing direction (inward in the left-right direction), allowing the front clip 48a to be inserted into the front fitting hole 46a.
- the elastic locking pieces 70 elastically deform and each engaging portion 72 engages from below with both left and right sides of the front fitting hole 46a in the vehicle body panel 18. This prevents the front clip 48a from coming out of the front fitting hole 46a.
- each pressure contact piece 74 is located on the inner periphery of the front fitting hole 46a, and is pressed against the inner surface of the front fitting hole 46a on both left and right sides by elastic restoring forces acting outward in the left and right directions.
- elastic locking pieces 70 protrude from both sides of each columnar portion 68 in the thickness direction (front-rear direction). That is, in the rear clip 48b, the elastic locking pieces 70 face each other in the front-rear direction and are elastically deformable in the front-rear direction. In other words, when the rear clip 48b is inserted into the rear mating hole 46b from above, the elastic locking pieces 70 are elastically deformed inward in the opposing direction (inward in the front-rear direction), allowing the rear clip 48b to be inserted into the rear mating hole 46b.
- each pressure contact piece 74 is located on the inner periphery of the rear fitting hole 46b, and the elastic restoring force acting outward in the front-to-rear direction causes each pressure contact piece 74 to be pressed against the inner surface of the rear fitting hole 46b on both sides in the front-to-rear direction.
- the opposing direction (front-to-back direction) of each elastic locking piece 70 in one clip intersects with the opposing direction (left-to-right direction) of each elastic locking piece 70 in the other clip (front clip 48a).
- the opposing direction of each elastic locking piece 70 in the rear clip 48b and the opposing direction of each elastic locking piece 70 in the front clip 48a are mutually perpendicular.
- the base end (upper end) of the columnar portion 68 of one clip (rear clip 48b) is provided with abutment portions 76 that can abut against the rear mating hole 46b on both radial sides of the rear mating hole 46b.
- the abutment portions 76 have a generally rectangular shape when viewed from the bottom (up-down projection) and protrude from the base end of the columnar portion 68 on both left and right sides.
- the left-right dimension of this abutment portion 76 is equal to or slightly smaller than the inner diameter dimension of the rear mating hole 46b.

- rotational displacement transmitted from the electric wires 12a, 12b via the connectors 16a, 16b can be suppressed not only by the pressure contact of the pressure contact pieces 74, but also by the contact of the contact portion 76 with the rear mating hole 46b.
- the tip (lower end) of the columnar portion 68 and the left and right outer surface of the abutment portion 76 are connected by inclined surfaces 78 that gradually slope outward in the left and right direction as they go upward.
- the guiding action of these inclined surfaces 78 guides the rear clip 48b to the center of the rear mating hole 46b, making it easier to fit the rear clip 48b into the rear mating hole 46b.
- circumferential extension portions 80 that extend out in the circumferential direction are provided at both left and right ends of each abutment portion 76.
- Each of these circumferential extension portions 80 has a predetermined circumferential dimension. As a result, when the rear clip 48b is mated with the rear mating hole 46b, in addition to the pressure contact pieces 74 and abutment portions 76, the circumferential extension portions 80 can also abut against the inner surface of the rear mating hole 46b, and the frictional effect of these abutment surfaces prevents relative rotation between the rear clip 48b and the rear mating hole 46b.
- the base end (upper end) of the columnar portion 68 of the other clip (front clip 48a) is provided with non-contact portions 81 that extend and protrude on both sides in the fore-and-aft direction, which is one radial direction of the front mating hole 46a.
- the non-contact portions 81 are separated from the front mating hole 46a on both sides in the fore-and-aft direction by a large gap, and are configured as non-contact portions 81 that do not abut against the front mating hole 46a. This makes it possible to accommodate the tolerances in the distance between the front mating hole 46a and the rear mating hole 46b and the distance between the front clip 48a and the rear clip 48b, facilitating assembly of the bracket 20 to the vehicle body panel 18 to which it is fixed.
- the portion of the non-contact portion 81 that protrudes rearward from the columnar portion 68 is provided with left-right protrusions 82, 82 that protrude outward in the left-right direction.
- each of these left-right protrusions 82 is slightly spaced apart from the inner surfaces of the front fitting hole 46a on both left and right sides.

In this way, the recesses and projections on the left connector housing 14a and the recesses and projections on the support portion 90 fit together to function as rails, allowing the left connector housing 14a to move forward within the housing attachment hole 84 with almost no tilting.
- the reinforcing rib 106 is provided on the right end of the wire holding portion 54.

- the length of each wire 12a, 12b can be adjusted by pulling it rearward, and then the tie band 58 can be tightened to complete the attachment of the bracket-equipped connector 10 to the vehicle body panel 18.
- each contact portion 44a, 44b With the bracket-equipped connector 10 constructed as described above, the protrusion dimension A of each contact portion 44a, 44b is set so that when each contact portion 44a, 44b comes into contact with the vehicle body panel 18, the protruding end face of each side wall portion 62a, 62b is spaced apart from the vehicle body panel 18. This reduces the risk of abnormal noise being generated when the rear end portion 56 of the wire holding portion 54 hits the vehicle body panel 18, even if vertical vibrations are input to the fixed portion between the bracket-equipped connector 10 and the vehicle body panel 18, for example, when the vehicle is traveling.
- the protrusion dimension A of each contact portion 44a, 44b is at least twice the protrusion dimension Bb of the taller side wall portion (rear side wall portion 62b). In other words, by making the protrusion dimension B of each side wall portion 62a, 62b at most half the protrusion dimension A of each contact portion 44a, 44b, the risk of the rear end portion 56 of the wire holding portion 54 hitting the body panel 18 while the vehicle is in motion, etc., and generating abnormal noise, is more reliably reduced.
- a reinforcing rib 106 is provided between the rear contact portion 44b and the front sidewall portion 62a, and the protruding end face of the reinforcing rib 106 is configured as an inclined surface 108 that slopes in a direction such that the protruding dimension of the reinforcing rib 106 gradually decreases toward the rear.
- the protruding dimension of the rear side wall portion 62b is larger than that of the front side wall portion 62a.
- the tie band 58 can be more reliably accommodated in the accommodation groove 60 by moving the tie band 58 rearward along the inclined surface 108 as described above and abutting it against the rear side wall portion 62b.
- the opposing direction of the elastic locking pieces 70 on the front clip 48a and the opposing direction of the elastic locking pieces 70 on the rear clip 48b intersect with each other. This allows the elastic locking pieces 70 on the clips 48a, 48b to elastically deform in different directions when the clips 48a, 48b are press-fit into the mating holes 46a, 46b, making it possible to absorb tolerances in two different directions.
- the elastic locking pieces 70 on the front clip 48a face each other in the left-right direction
- the elastic locking pieces 70 on the rear clip 48b face each other in the front-to-rear direction. This allows the elastic deformation of the elastic locking pieces 70 to absorb tolerances in both the left-to-right and front-to-rear directions.
- the base end of the columnar portion 68 of the rear clip 48b has an abutment portion 76 that can abut against the rear mating hole 46b, while the base end of the columnar portion 68 of the front clip 48a has a non-abutment portion 81 that does not abut against the front mating hole 46a.
- the pressure contact pieces 74, abutment portions 76, and circumferential extensions 80 can abut against the inner surface of the rear fitting hole 46b in a predetermined circumferential region, while in the front clip 48a, the left and right protrusions 82 are positioned close to both left and right portions of the inner surface of the front fitting hole 46a.
- the bracket 20 rotates around the rear clip 48b relative to the vehicle body panel 18, the left and right protrusions 82 of the front clip 48a abut against both left and right portions of the inner surface of the front fitting hole 46a, thereby suppressing the rotational displacement.

Description

<本体部42>
<変形例>
