Definitions
- the present invention relates to an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic. More specifically, it relates to an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic that contains a stable blend of multi-layered capsules containing a pigment, and that can change color tone by crushing the multi-layered capsules with an appropriate force to expose the pigment contained in the capsules.
- Patent Document 1 describes a water-in-oil emulsion sunscreen product that contains a multi-layer capsule containing a pigment and an ultraviolet scattering agent such as titanium oxide or zinc oxide (hereinafter, simply referred to as a "multi-layer capsule"). Even if this sunscreen product contains a relatively large amount of an ultraviolet scattering agent, excessive whiteness is suppressed by the color tone change caused by the multi-layer capsule.
- the oil-based cosmetic described in Patent Document 2 is formulated with multi-layered capsules and a water-soluble scrubbing agent of a specific particle size, and can cause a color change by rubbing the cosmetic film at any desired time, not just when the cosmetic is applied.
- conventional cosmetics containing multi-layered capsules are oil-based or water-in-oil emulsion cosmetics, and the multi-layered capsules are incorporated into the oil phase. This is because it is difficult to incorporate the multi-layered capsules into the oil phase of oil-in-water emulsion cosmetics due to the surface properties and particle size of the capsules.
- Patent Document 3 discloses an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic in which a nonionic surfactant, a polyhydric alcohol, and pigment-grade hydrophobically treated particles with an average particle size of 300 nm or more are incorporated into the dispersion medium (aqueous phase), and it is said that the hydrophobically treated particles can be applied uniformly to the skin surface to achieve a good tone-up effect, etc.
- Patent No. 6434993 WO2021/020351 WO2021/132273
- an object of the present invention is to provide an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic that contains multi-layered capsules, and in which the incorporated multi-layered capsules can be broken by application of a moderate force to expose the encapsulated pigment.
- the inventors discovered that the above problems could be solved by blending multi-layered capsules and a polyhydric alcohol in the aqueous phase (external phase) of an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic, and further blending a salt having a specific molecular weight, while adjusting the blending ratio of the multi-layered capsules to the salt, thereby completing the present invention.
- the present invention provides: (A) a multi-layer capsule containing a pigment; (B) a salt having a molecular weight of 1000 or less; and (C) a polyhydric alcohol,
- An oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic comprising:
- the present invention provides an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic, characterized in that the blending ratio [(B)/(A)] of the salt (B) having a molecular weight of 1,000 or less to the multi-layered capsule containing the pigment (A) is 0.003 or more.
- the oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic of the present invention can stably contain multi-layer capsules containing a pigment, and when rubbed with a moderate amount of force, the multi-layer capsules can be broken to expose the encapsulated pigment. Therefore, the cosmetic of the present invention can provide both the fresh usability of an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic and the realization of a color change due to the multi-layer capsules.
- the oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic of the present invention (hereinafter simply referred to as "cosmetic") contains (A) a multi-layered capsule containing a pigment, (B) a salt with a molecular weight of 1000 or less, and (C) a polyhydric alcohol as essential ingredients.
- a multi-layered capsule containing a pigment (hereinafter also simply referred to as “multi-layered capsule” or “A component”) has a structure having an internal layer (core) and one or more external layers (shells).
- a colored pigment such as a red inorganic pigment or a yellow inorganic pigment is encapsulated in the internal layer, and a first external layer having a polymer as a base material covers the internal layer.
- the first external layer having a polymer as a base material may be further covered by a second external layer made of a different material.
- first external layer having a polymer as a base material and the second external layer made of a different material are covered is arbitrary, and each may be a single layer or multiple layers.
- the internal layer, the first external layer, and the second external layer may optionally contain other inorganic powders (including pigments).
- the polymer that serves as the base material for the first and/or second outer layer is not particularly limited as long as it is one that is commonly used in cosmetics, but examples include organic polymers such as (meth)acrylic resins such as polymethyl methacrylate, nylon, polyester, polyethylene, polystyrene, polyurethane, silicone resin, and cellulose.
- organic polymers such as (meth)acrylic resins such as polymethyl methacrylate, nylon, polyester, polyethylene, polystyrene, polyurethane, silicone resin, and cellulose.
- the "multilayer capsule” of the present invention may be a commercially available product, such as MAGICOLOR (registered trademark) sold by Biogenics, Inc., Sugarcapsule Magic SP Series sold by Daito Kasei Kogyo Co., Ltd., TagraCap (trademark) sold by Tagra Biotechnologies Ltd., and MicroBeads (trademark) sold by Salvona Technologies LLC.
- MAGICOLOR registered trademark
- Biogenics, Inc. Sugarcapsule Magic SP Series sold by Daito Kasei Kogyo Co., Ltd.
- TagraCap trademark
- Tagra Biotechnologies Ltd. and MicroBeads (trademark) sold by Salvona Technologies LLC.
- a typical multi-layered capsule can be produced, for example, as described in U.S. Patent Application Publication No. 2011/0165208 (or the corresponding Japanese Patent Publication No. 2011-529104), by preparing a solution of a first pigment, a plasticizer, and a polymer; spray drying the solution to form core particles in which the pigment is coated with the polymer; dispersing these core particles in a solution containing a second pigment; and spray drying the dispersion to form capsule particles in which the second pigment is coated with the polymer.
- the diameter of the multi-layered capsule is preferably less than 300 ⁇ m, and is preferably 280 ⁇ m or less, more preferably 250 ⁇ m or less, even more preferably 150 ⁇ m or less, even more preferably 100 ⁇ m or less, and most preferably 60 ⁇ m or less.
- the diameter refers to the number average diameter.
- the amount of the multi-layered capsules is not particularly limited as long as the intended visual effect can be achieved when applied to the skin.
- the amount is preferably 0.1 to 3% by mass relative to the total amount of the cosmetic, more preferably 0.3 to 2.5% by mass, even more preferably 0.5 to 2% by mass, and most preferably 0.8 to 1.8% by mass.
- a multi-layered capsule amount of 0.1% by mass or more can provide sufficient color change and skin color correction effects, while a multi-layered capsule amount of 3% by mass or less can provide a natural finish that is attractive to the user.

- Example 3 which used sodium chloride (table salt) as "(B) salt”, required a slightly higher number of rubs than Examples 1 and 2, which used other salts.
- Example 4 used the same amount of sodium chloride as Example 3, but by further adding (D) an amphiphilic substance (PEG/PPG-14/7 dimethyl ether), the number of rubs was equivalent to Examples 1 and 2.
- Table 2 shows that the same effect can be obtained even if the type of "(B) salt” or the mixing ratio [(B)/(A)] is changed, as long as the condition [(B)/(A)] is 0.003 or more is met.
- Example 9 in Table 3 shows that the same effect can be obtained even if the amphiphilic substance (PEG/PPG-14/7 dimethyl ether) (E) used in Example 4 is replaced with another substance (phenoxyethanol).
- Comparative Examples 1 to 3 which have the same composition as Example 9 except for (Component B)
- Comparative Example 1 in which the blending ratio [(B)/(A)] is less than 0.003, shows that the multi-layered capsules are difficult to crush, and a color change was observed only after 7 or more strokes.

Abstract
Description

(A)顔料を含む多層型カプセル;
